eCash is a Bitcoin hard fork initiated by Bitcoin developer Paul Sztorc. The project aims to preserve Bitcoin's core architecture while introducing native support for Drivechains (BIP-300) and additional Layer 2 functionality.
The network is designed as a near-copy of Bitcoin Core, using the SHA-256 proof-of-work algorithm and maintaining compatibility with the existing Bitcoin software stack wherever practical. Bitcoin holders will be able to claim eCash on a 1:1 basis after the fork.
The project's objective is to provide an alternative Bitcoin-compatible network focused on experimentation with scalability, programmable sidechains, and protocol development while preserving the familiar Bitcoin user experience.
