<p>In her speech, <strong>Senator Lummis</strong> emphasized the importance of supporting financial innovation rather than restricting it. She shared that her interest in Bitcoin began through discussions with her family and participation in crypto-related meetings.</p>
<p><strong>Senator Tim Scott</strong> also backed Lummis’ view on Bitcoin as a tool that could help increase access to financial instruments for everyone, including minorities. He highlighted his background. Growing up in a single-parent household, he sees Bitcoin as a means of providing chances to marginalized communities.</p>
<p>Scott emphasized, “Bitcoin is about giving the average American a chance to make their own decisions, democratizing our financial footprint, and achieving the American dream.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>The conference also focused on the issues encountered in the Senate, especially with the Senate Banking Committee, where both senators have noticed that there is a lot of opposition to the bills supporting cryptocurrencies. Secondly, they emphasized the importance of basing Bitcoin mining and its related industry in the United States. This is particularly crucial given the Biden administration’s proposal to implement a 30% excise tax on mining.</p>
