This move, announced on April 9, 2024, marks a significant enhancement for the ecosystem, enabling developers to utilize USDC on a scalable and efficient platform. zkSync’s technology, leveraging zero-knowledge proofs and rollups, is designed to enhance transaction speed and reduce costs by processing transactions off the Ethereum main layer. As of the announcement, the zkSync ecosystem boasted over 180 decentralized applications and 5.7 million unique active wallet addresses in the preceding 30 days, indicating a strong and growing platform for developers and users alike.
