NatGold (NATG) is a patent-pending digital mining platform that tokenizes independently verified in-ground gold resources to create a blockchain-native store of value without requiring physical extraction. According to NatGold's White Paper and related technical materials, tokenization is limited to in-ground gold resources supported by independent technical reports prepared under recognized disclosure standards, including NI 43-101, the JORC Code, and S-K 1300, together with legal title review and approval through NatGold's tokenization framework.
NATG is designed to provide digital exposure to the economic value of gold resources that remain securely within Mother Nature's Vault. At minting, each NATG references one troy ounce of NatGold Certified Resources confirmed through NatGold's certification process and supporting technical documentation. NatGold states that only resources meeting its eligibility criteria may be certified.
The project is intended to provide exposure to gold without the storage, vaulting, insurance, or transportation requirements associated with physical bullion. NatGold positions NATG as a real-world asset token that links digital issuance to qualified mineral rights and independently quantified resource volumes rather than to physical gold bars or mined output.
NatGold's framework is built around non-extractive monetization. The company states that its process is intended to realize and trade the economic value of gold while the physical resource remains undisturbed in its natural geological state. This approach is intended to reduce the logistical and environmental costs associated with conventional mining and bullion handling.
The system also incorporates standardized technical reporting and legal review. NatGold states that each candidate undergoes due diligence that includes AML and KYC clearance, technical validation of the geological report by third-party specialists, and legal due diligence on mineral rights title before certification. The company further describes a Baseline Intrinsic Value metric as an informational reference point for the economic value of verified in-ground gold resources. BIV is calculated as the prevailing spot price of gold less an index of the gold mining industry's average all-in sustaining production costs. It does not represent a fixed, supported, or guaranteed trading price.
NATG is issued as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum (contract 0x59c323346F4f62aE18289F346501389392cf5939, 18 decimals) and is deployed through an upgradeable proxy, with source code verified on Etherscan. Tokens are minted through the contract only after a resource has completed the certification and approval process described above, and may be burned from the NatGold Contingency Fund where certified resources are removed or invalidated, so that tokens outstanding remain aligned with the certified resource base. The contracts were independently audited by FYEO, and the audit report is publicly available.
The company has notified its MiCA White Paper to the Central Bank of Ireland in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/1114, and its framework is intended to align with the disclosure and transparency expectations applicable to crypto-assets admitted to trading in the European Union. NATG is intended for individuals seeking digital gold exposure, participants interested in blockchain-based real-world assets, and owners of qualifying mineral rights who may seek to commercialize NatGold Certified Resources through NatGold's digital mining process.
NatGold also emphasizes a structured approval process. Its Tokenization Approval Policies & Procedures describe a multi-stage review framework governing the evaluation, certification, and tokenization of in-ground gold deposits. In this way, NATG is presented as a digital asset linked to verified resource documentation, defined rights, and a process intended to support transparent issuance and custody.
