About Ritual

Ritual is a Layer-1 blockchain purpose-built for autonomous AI agents. Its execution environment, EVM++, is a backwards-compatible extension of the EVM that adds sixteen native precompiles giving smart contracts direct access to frontier AI models, internet connectivity, self-scheduling, and key management, without requiring a new programming language. Agents call LLMs and other models as native precompile operations, with prompts and responses kept encrypted inside TEE enclaves and results settled onchain in the same transaction. Agents also fetch external data such as price feeds, social data, and payment rails directly inside TEEs with cryptographic attestation, removing the need for separate oracle infrastructure. Native autonomous scheduling lets contracts register recurring or conditional execution at the block-proposer level, without external keeper bots. Confidential compute is selectable per call: TEEs for private execution, ZK for public proofs, and FHE for encrypted data. Once deployed, an agent on Ritual holds its own keys, manages its own capital under a programmable budget, schedules its own re-execution, and persists and revives from checkpoints, allowing it to continue operating without further human involvement as long as it has funds. The network is secured by Proof-of-Stake consensus, with the RITUAL token used to pay for compute, verification, and execution resources, and to reward validators and node operators providing those services.
