Cryptocurrencies are a form of money popularized by Bitcoin, and all the others that have followed. They exist on an online ledger called a blockchain. Tokens are forms of currency created in software and distributed to users by application developers. They don't have to exist on a blockchain or be entirely digital; some may only exist in the physical world, like bus tokens. Cryptocurrencies use technology known as blockchain, which is essentially a ledger of records that keeps track of digital transactions. Tokens are a unit of value that can be redeemed for goods and services in specific ways.
While not always the case, there is quite a bit of overlap between tokens and cryptocurrencies. Tokens are usually standalone software applications that are built upon or extend the underlying platform, whereas cryptocurrencies are (almost) entirely meant to be used as a currency. Cryptocurrencies use distributed ledger technology (DLT) to create and maintain a balance of accounts. These ledgers are based on mathematical functions. Tokens, on the other hand, are individual units of money that are created when an account pays for something in a cryptocurrency. They can be transferred to another account or redeemed for another cryptocurrency.
Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ether are designed to serve as a form of money, whereas tokens are designed with more specific functions in mind, such as serving groups of people (utility tokens), companies (security tokens) or even nation-states (sovereign tokens).
Crypto futures trading exchanges are digital platforms that allow investors to trade cryptocurrency futures on a futures exchange on which the underlying asset is a cryptocurrency, such as Bitcoin. Future trading gives you an opportunity to run your own crypto-trading exchange. This will allow you to trade digital assets and tokens to Bitcoin, Ethereum and other recognized digital currencies.
Cryptocurrencies and tokens are digital assets that have value because some people are willing to exchange them for goods and services. Major cryptocurrencies are designed to be used as resources in a new digital economy. Some people have begun trading these cryptographically-secured tokens in a futures market, thinking of them as "digital assets" with values that rise and fall according to their use in the economy (as opposed to just being backed by hard metal, or some government's ability to tax). The crypto futures exchanges then facilitate many trades between buyers and sellers of cryptocurrency.
You can also gift someone crypto, or they can buy Bitcoin. Recently, the DeFi industry has taken off in the crypto space. You can also earn crypto by mining coins that are minable. Not all coins in the crypto space make it, some projects can fail.
