About BetterTelegram

What is BTELEGRAM?

BTELEGRAM is part of the BetterTelegram Network, which is a privacy-first application that seeks to fight censorship & add privacy-aware functionality to the Telegram Messaging application. It acheives this by injecting a custom module (https://github.com/bettertelegram-client/internal) into the Native Telegram Client which adds unique functionality into the users client.

What does BetterTelegram do?

BetterTelegram adds a button to enable OTRv4 (soon-to-be OMEMO) into every Solo & Group chat that the user is part of. By clicking the button from the Chat Menu, their client performs an authenticated-key-exchange (AKE) with their peer(s) which forwardly makes every message sent through Telegram E2EE (end-to-end encrypted). Only other peers who use the BetterTelegram application are able to see the decrypted messages using an in-memory session key that is generated by the BetterTelegram Module. Telegram servers cannot see the messages sent through BetterTelegram.

What else does BetterTelegram do?

At the moment, BetterTelegram also permits the ability to; transfer files over OTRv4 E2EE, enter Ghost Mode which prevents the user from being seen as online/typing status & doesnt send read-receipts to their peers, Delete all chats in a single click, and enable clean-protect which prevents other peer(s) even if they dont use BetterTelegram from deleting messages/clearing chats

How does the BTELEGRAM token integrate into BetterTelegram?

Currently we are working on features (to be released within the next few weeks) that will allow users of BetterTelegram to right-click on any message and send a specified amount of BTELEGRAM tokens to other users.

On top of this, there will be the ability to view any users BTELEGRAM token balance within their user profile in the Telegram Client.

What does the future hold for BetterTelegram?

We have plans to integrate many more integral features of the BTELEGRAM token within BetterTelegram such as; BetterMarket (OTRv4/OMEMO p2p TON-based marketplace), BetterSwap (swap protocol), BetterEscrow (AI-powered Escrow service), and many more!
