Über EcoCoin

Launched on 22 October 2015 by a team based in the Netherlands, ECOcoin is a currency earned through sustainable action - eating meat-free meals, switching to a green energy provider, or riding a bike to work. ECOs can be spent in the ECOcoin marketplace to buy ecological experiences and sustainable services. The ECO coin is governed by a DAO, claims to be backed by sustainable assets, and is programmed to decay over time with a demurage rate which disincentivizes the hoarding of the asset.
