WL

WorldLand was founded by Heungno Lee, who serves as Chief Executive Officer.

Heungno Lee is a Professor at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), specializing in machine learning, communications, information theory, and blockchain. He has published over 300 SCI and IEEE-indexed research papers.

He currently leads the ITRC Blockchain Intelligence Convergence Research Center and the Blockchain Internet Economic Research Center at GIST, and previously served as Director of the AI Research Institute at GIST. He has also held academic positions in Korea and the United States, including at the University of Pittsburgh.

WorldLand is supported by a Korea-based team with experience in blockchain infrastructure and research-driven protocol development.

1. PoW Mining Rewards

WorldLand issues proof of work mining rewards denominated in WL. The target block time is 10 seconds, with a block reward of 20 WL per block with 4 years halving.

20% of each block reward is allocated to the Ecosystem Treasury, and 80% is distributed to miners. This structure creates a direct funding mechanism tied to network security.

2. Transaction Fees (Gas)

WL is used to pay gas fees for transactions executed on the WorldLand mainnet. Gas provides spam resistance and resource pricing for state-modifying transactions, including job commitments, challenges, settlement receipts, and governance actions.

3. Protocol Service Fees (Web3 Cloud / Compute)

WL functions as the settlement currency for protocol-level services. These include GPU compute usage, storage services, verification-layer services, and the rental or borrowing of compute and storage resources.

As the Web3 cloud expands, WL serves as the native unit of account for AI inference and training workloads supported by the network.

4. Governance

WL holders participate in governance decisions related to protocol parameters, treasury policies, and network upgrades. Governance is intended to align incentives among miners, compute providers, users, and ecosystem participants.
