SUGR

SUGR is a community-driven memecoin and Cardano native asset launched in November 2024. Its theme traces back to a 2013 Bitcointalk post that proposed bringing Sugar Bush the squirrel into the Bitcoin community. The SUGR token itself did not exist in 2013 and was created later on Cardano. After activity around the project declined, a community-led revival began in August 2026 around the same existing Cardano asset. No replacement token or token migration was created. The current SUGR Community Revival focuses on community participation, transparency and preservation of the project's history. Official project resources and public records are maintained through the SUGR website and GitHub, including records for verifying the canonical asset and material treasury activity. The Community Treasury uses a 2-of-3 Cardano native-script multisignature structure. SUGR uses memes, its squirrel character and community participation to engage with the broader Cardano ecosystem while maintaining publicly verifiable project records. SUGR is an independent community project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Charles Hoskinson, Input Output, or the Cardano Foundation.
