About DarkRoute (darkroute.exchange)

DarkRoute is a non-custodial swap routing interface deployed on Robinhood Chain, an EVM-compatible network with chain ID 4663. It went live on 7 September 2026. The service lets a user exchange one crypto asset for another without creating an account, completing identity verification, or connecting a wallet, and it does not take custody of funds at any point in the process.

A user selects an asset to send and an asset to receive and pastes a receiving address. The router returns a quote that states two things most services in this category do not display: the name of the venue that will fill the order, shown without relabelling, and the platform fee as a numeric value in both the input token and US dollars, shown before any deposit is made. The service then issues a one-time deposit address. Funds move directly from the user into the route. Order status is tracked through four stages — awaiting deposit, confirming, exchanging, and settled — and a shareable receipt is generated on completion, listing the venue, the fee paid, and the settlement. The asset registry currently covers 188 assets across 35 networks.

The platform fee is 0.3% of the input amount. DarkRoute retains 0.15% of that and the underlying routing protocol retains the other 0.15% under a default 50/50 integrator arrangement. The project publishes this split in its own documentation. The documentation also states the limits of the privacy the service provides: the venue filling an order can observe the deposit address and the receiving address, and on-chain settlement remains publicly visible.

The routing layer currently fills orders through a single intent-based venue. A multi-venue quote table, an on-chain fee vault and burner, a settlement contract paying swap rewards in tokenized equities, a non-custodial staking escrow, order shielding across multiple venues, a public quote API, and limit and recurring order types are designed and documented but are not deployed. The interface labels each of these as planned rather than presenting them as available. Two contracts, a staking escrow and a burn ledger, have been written and tested but are neither deployed nor audited.

DARK is the fee and access token for the interface. Holder tiers grant fee discounts of 5% at 1,000,000 tokens held, 15% at 2,500,000, 35% at 5,000,000 and 50% at 10,000,000, applied to the user's own quote at quote time rather than refunded afterwards. Higher tiers are specified to carry reward multipliers, a lower size threshold for order shielding, tiered API rate limits, additional order types, and access to mirror the project's trading desk; the features that are not yet deployed are not yet accessible at any tier. The token does not affect routing quality — the venues queried, the names displayed and the settlement path are identical for holders and non-holders. It confers no ownership, revenue rights, or governance claim.

DARK launched on 8 September 2026 through the pons v2 launchpad as a fair launch, with an original supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens, no team allocation, no presale, and no vesting or unlock schedule. The deployed bytecode contains no mint function, no owner function and no pause function, which can be verified against the contract on the block explorer. 35,978,860 tokens have been sent to the burn address. DARK trades on Uniswap v4 on Robinhood Chain, principally against ETH.
