Tempus is building the most important blocks of DeFi and Web3 in a way that’s scalable and accessible to all.
Who Are the Founders of Tempus?
Tempus is a London-based DeFi protocol founded by David Garai, a Hungarian entrepreneur and finance professional. Before founding Tempus in April 2021, he worked in corporate finance for Linklaters and served as Head of Operations at Interlay, a Bitcoin-focused DeFi protocol. Mr Garai is supported by CTO Đorđe Mijović, a Serbian software engineer with nine years of professional experience in computer vision, web applications, and compilers.
The 22-person strong team at Tempus has already raised more than $6 million in funding from investors like Lemniscap, Jump Capital, Distributed Global, GSR, Wintermute, Tomahawk.VC and others.
How Many Tempus (TEMP) Coins Are There in Circulation?
TEMP is the protocol’s native governance token that returns a share of network fees to its stakers. TEMP holders govern the protocol and can adjust protocol-level fees and propose changes by bringing forward governance proposals. Furthermore, holders can also vote on how the Tempus treasury spends its funds.
The total supply of TEMP is 1 billion according to the following token distribution:
Community (52%): 250 million TEMP going to liquidity mining and community incentives, 200 million TEMP to the treasury, 70 million TEMP to the public token sale.
Team (26%): according to a 36-month vesting schedule.
Investors and Advisors (22%): according to a 30-month vesting schedule.
How Is the Tempus Network Secured?
Tempus is built on Ethereum, one of the most popular blockchains and the go-to solution for many decentralized applications. Its proof-of-workconsensus mechanism requires miners to mine new Ether and ensures that Ethereum is one of the safest blockchains in the crypto industry. A set of decentralized nodes validates transactions and secures the Ethereum blockchain.
Can Tempus (TEMP) Reach $1?
Although TEMP has declined significantly from its launch price of $0.51, the project puts forward a legitimate use case and attempts to add value to the decentralized finance space. Macro conditions permitting, TEMP could see its token price appreciate to $1 at some point in the future.
