MultiversX is a blockchain protocol that seeks to offer extremely fast transaction speeds by using sharding. The project describes itself as a technology ecosystem for the new internet, which includes fintech, decentralized finance and the Internet of Things. Its smart contracts execution platform is reportedly capable of 15,000 transactions per second, six-second latency and a $0.001 transaction cost.

MultiversX rewards the community and active participants with EGLD tokens. EGLD, or Electronic Gold, is MultiversX's native token. It acts as a store of value currency to pay for network usage. The coin also serves as a medium of exchange between platform users and validators. Users pay transaction fees in EGLD and validators provide services.

EGLD allows developers to deploy smart contracts, protocols, and dApps on the platform. It empowers participants to perform any network action. Through staking and validation rewards, as well as transaction fees, EGLD manages the MultiversX network. Plus, EGLD is endowed with the functionality of a governance token, so its holders can vote on network decisions.

MultiversX was first announced in August 2019, and its mainnet went live in July 2020.

Roobee (ROOBEE) is a blockchain-based investment platform that allows users to invest in products from both the traditional and crypto markets. The platform is under active development and is already operational. Behind the platform is a team of developers who won prizes in hackathons, including the 2017 and 2019 ETHWaterloo hackathons held in Canada by ETHGlobal.

The mission of Roobee is to give any person with any level income an opportunity to invest starting just from $10 in investment products that are only available to big institutional players, qualified investors, millionaires, and funds. Luckycoin ($LKY) is a cryptocurrency that launched in May 2013, by an anonymous developer called LuckyC.

In August 2024 a backup of the Luckycoin blockchain from 2013 was discovered and the chain was revived from block 81,743, thus enshrining as much of the history of Luckycoin as possible in the current actively mined chain.

Luckycoin was one of the earliest cryptocurrencies ever launched and after its revival in 2024 is now one of the oldest actively mined cryptocurrencies in existence.

Luckycoin could be considered the oldest active 'memecoin' in existence at the time of writing. Although the concept of memecoin hadn't taken hold back in May of 2013 it's clear that Luckycoin offers no utility and instead was described by LuckyC as 'Fast, Fun & Fair' with a playful introduction on the Bitcoin Talk forums.

Alpine F1 Team Fan Token (ALPINE) is the first Formula One-themed fan token by Binance — the world's biggest and most popular cryptocurrency exchange. After Binance released its first fan token in LAZIO, the ALPINE token will give fans of the Alpine F1 Team a chance to engage with the racing brand. After Socios had first popularized fan tokens, Binance took over the launch of new tokens like PORTO. The Binance logo will be featured on the new Alpine A522 cars starting from next season. Alpine executives were highly pleased with the deal. Laurent Rossi, the CEO of the F1 team, said that "partnering with Binance fuels our passion to change the racing landscape as well as open doors for more innovative fan engagement." Binance was equally buoyant about the deal, with Helen Hai, CEO of Binance Fiat Exchange noting that "we Binance aim to bring equally exciting experiences to the blockchain and drive even more utility for ALPINE holders, to extend the range of activities fans can already do on our platform. We are just approaching 'turn one' of 'lap one' on the token race track; and possibilities are truly endless."

Badger DAO is an open-source, decentralized automated organization that is dedicated to building products and infrastructure of simplifying the use of Bitcoin (BTC) as collateral across many smart contract platforms.

The platform is a shared space where the developers, known as Badge Builders, have the ability to collaborate and implement Bitcoin as collateral to as many blockchains as possible. A developer can earn a percentage of the fees and BADGER tokens from the developer mining pool for every implementation. The mainnet was launched on December 3, 2020.

A builder can be a single developer, a group of developers, or even a company. There are no fixed obligations to participation requirements, and anyone can create. The pillars of Badger DAO include the Badger Builders, the community-created products, the Dedicated Badger Operations team, the fairly initial distribution of the BADGER tokens for governance and the fact that all of the code is open-sourced.

Multichain (MULTI), previously known as Anyswap, claims to be the ultimate router for web3 and has positioned itself as an infrastructure developed for arbitrary cross-chain interactions.

As claimed in their official documentation, Multichain offers solutions that enable nearly all blockchains to interconnect – regardless if it is EVM chains (e.g., Avalanche), Layer 2 chains tied to Ethereum (like Polygon), Parachains networks like Moonbeam on Polkadot, and so on.

Multichain is a prominent name in the cross-chain space, with a rapidly growing network of 26 chains, with Total Value Locked (TVL) reaching highs of over $10.45 billion, and a sustained daily volume of over $100 million. However, the onset of the bear market and recent news of Multichain CEO being uncontactable saw TVL dropping to $1.38B.

Mysterium Network is an open-source ecosystem of protocols, tools, and Web3 infrastructure making the internet borderless and accessible for all. The network gives both users and builders the tools they need to safeguard their online anonymity and equal access to information. Mysterium held a token sale through which it raised $14 million CHF.

Mysterium is powered by its permissionless, peer-to-peer network. Anyone can turn their device into a node and rent their spare internet resources, such as bandwidth or IP address, in exchange for cryptocurrency. The network is tamper-proof, anonymous, and encrypted like Tor, but with superior usability, stability and speed.

Mysterium’s B2B Network-as-a-Service lays the groundwork for all kinds of enterprise-level services to be built, including the project's flagship product, the Mysterium VPN, available for Android, Windows, Mac and Linux (iOS in 2022). Developers and entrepreneurs can build private, censorship-resistant tools, and businesses can make their products globally accessible and secure. The technology is fully compatible with both Web2 and Web3 platforms and can be integrated with VPNs, proxy services, DeFi wallets, browsers, search engines, data scraping solutions, and streaming apps, building censorship-resistance into the apps we already use.

Peercoin, also known as PPC or Peer-to-Peer Coin, was created by Sunny King and his team and launched in August 2012. It is the first blockchain to implement Proof-of-Stake consensus.

The primary inspiration behind the creation of Peercoin was to address a number of perceived shortcomings of Bitcoin, including energy efficiency, security and sustainability, decentralization and long-term viability.

Essentially it was designed as an enhanced replacement for Bitcoin. As such, it was originally forked from Bitcoin and uses the same UTXO style blockchain. However, Peercoin's code was modified to introduce Proof-of-Stake as its primary consensus protocol. The next section explains how this makes for a better blockchain.

Given that Peercoin uses most of the same code, it can easily port new features from Bitcoin and utilize any of the supporting infrastructure, including tech advancements like Taproot or Lightning Network. Peercoin is the only Proof-of-Stake blockchain that uses modern Bitcoin code, making it the perfect drop-in replacement.

Peercoin also has a dedicated community, is actively developed, fairly distributed, has low barriers of participation, can do everything that Bitcoin does, minus the 13 TWh of energy usage, and it's not a scam.
