About Vigorus
What Is Vigorus (VIS)?
Vigorus (VIS) is the utility token of Pegaxy (PGX), an NFT-based play-to-earn horse racing game with players competing for the top 3 positions in a field of 12 racers. Races in Pegaxy are influenced by randomized variables like wind, water, fire, speed, and others. Players can improve their chances of winning races by upgrading their NFT horses.
The eponymous Pega are a set of 5,000 NFTs that were released in October 2021 during the PGX IDO. These 5,000 “Founding Pega” preceded the Pega minted through the in-game breeding model. Players can race their Pega in PvP mode to earn VIS, sell or rent them out on the marketplace, and compete in the game’s global competition called “The Grand Dash.”
In the long run, Pegaxy aims to become the home of horse racing in the Metaverse by means of providing players with an ecosystem to play, socialize and work. The game’s Beta release on desktop took place in December 2021, with the mobile version yet to come. In 2022, Pegaxy plans to start selling Pega food, release the first stadiums for sale, and introduce a staking mechanism. In 2023, the game’s roadmap promises the introduction of NFT riders, cross-chaininteroperability, and a burn mechanism.
Who Are the Founders of Vigorus?
Pegaxy was founded in February 2021 and has grown into a team of over 50 full-time employees in game design, engineering, blockchain development, HR, customer support, and other fields. The game was launched by its three core team members: CEO Ken Pham, CTO Steve Nguyen, and CMO Corey Wilton.
Mr. Pham is a seasoned builder with more than ten years of experience as a Business Establishment Consultant for many multinational corporations and possesses expertise in product development, business development, and international business relations.
Mr. Nguyen is the game’s technical mastermind and is actively involved in the game’s design and development. He was previously the CTO of Appota Group, a pioneering company building an ecosystem of products and services for over 55 million users. During his 15 years in the IT industry, Mr. Nguyen also developed Gamota, a major Vietnamese game publisher.
With over seven years of experience in digital marketing and customer service, Mr. Wilton is responsible for the game’s marketing strategy, customer support, and brand design. He has supported more than 20 cryptocurrency teams with marketing services since 2018.
What Makes Vigorus Unique?
Although Pegaxy follows the tried and tested path of other play-to-earn games, they hope to stand out by doing everything a little bit better.
For starters, its races will take place in slick 3D-racing arenas with a futuristic design. The player’s Pega will race against 11 others, and the winner will be determined by a random number generator that is influenced by other factors like track attributes. In the future, the game will increasingly feature player-controlled variables to make for a more immersive experience.
The game’s main competition is The Grand Dash Tournament, an annual tournament with monthly qualification rounds. The top 12 racers with the highest statistics in each class qualify every month to make up the 132 total racers for the Grand Final, which is live-streamed across platforms. Qualifiers receive a PGX reward and a large reward from the game’s ecosystem fund is allocated towards the Grand Final.
The eponymous Pegas can be bred if they are not part of the initial batch of 5,000 Genesis Pegas. Breeding is subject to several restrictions like bloodlines and breed types, which determine the rarity of the NFT. Pegas can also be rented, either for a fixed sum or for a profit-sharing agreement. If a player wishes to trade Pegas, they can do so on the game’s marketplace.
In the future, the game will also feature different NFT stadiums, as well as gear and food for the Pegas, which will influence their performance on the racetrack.
How Many Vigorus (VIS) Coins Are There in Circulation?
VIS is the game’s utility token with an unlimited supply. It is minted for the top 3 of each race and burned during Pega breeding. The team aims for a balanced mint and burn ratio without tinkering with the game’s economics too much. The game’s governance token is PGX and has a total supply of 1 billion. You can find the distribution of Pegaxy in the tokenomics section here.
How Is the Vigorus Network Secured?
Vigorus launched on Polygon, a layer-two scaling solution of Ethereum. Polygon allows for the creation of different scaling solutions, such as optimistic rollup chains, ZK rollup chains, or side chains. It uses a customized version of the Plasma framework built on proof-of-stake checkpoints that run through the Ethereum mainnet.
