What Is Revolut X?

Revolut X is a standalone cryptocurrency exchange built by Revolut, the UK fintech used by more than 75 million customers globally. It is designed for experienced and active traders, and sits separately from the crypto feature inside the main Revolut app — offering an order book, advanced charting, lower fees and tighter spreads.

The exchange launched in the UK in May 2024 as a desktop platform, expanded across 30 countries in the European Economic Area in November 2024, and has since added dedicated iOS and Android apps at exchange.revolut.com/app.

Revolut X supports real-time trading on 300+ tokens, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL) and XRP, with market and limit orders, and on-chain deposits and withdrawals for 35+ assets.

Core features include:

What Makes Revolut X Unique?

Three things separate Revolut X from most centralised exchanges.

Flat fees with no volume tiers. Most exchanges use a tiered maker–taker schedule where the best pricing is reserved for high-volume traders. Revolut X charges every customer the same: 0% to make, 0.09% to take. A $1,000 taker order costs $0.90 in fees.

A single account across fiat and crypto. Because Revolut X connects directly to a customer's Revolut account, moving between fiat and crypto does not require an external bank transfer or a third-party payment provider. Balances move instantly in both directions.

Native AI assistant integration. Revolut X can be connected to third-party AI assistants — including Claude, Gemini, OpenClaw and Cursor — via the Model Context Protocol. Traders can query market data, set price alerts, backtest strategies and place market and limit orders through natural-language prompts, with the user reviewing and approving each order before execution. Revolut does not endorse or guarantee third-party AI tools, and automated or AI-assisted trading carries additional risk.

For traders who prefer to build their own tooling, the Revolut X Crypto Exchange API exposes market data, account state and order management programmatically.

How Does Revolut X Trading Work?

Revolut X runs a central limit order book with deep liquidity across its listed pairs.

A taker order matches immediately against existing resting orders and removes liquidity from the book — priced at 0.09%. A maker order rests on the book at a chosen price until it is matched or cancelled, adding liquidity — priced at 0%.

Traders can place market orders for immediate execution at the best available price, or limit orders that execute only when a specified price is reached. All fees are displayed before an order is confirmed.

The dashboard surfaces top traded tokens, top gainers and top assets by market cap, alongside real-time price and volume data.

How Is Revolut X Secured?

The majority of customer crypto on Revolut X is held in cold storage — wallets kept offline and out of reach of network-based attacks — using multi-signature setups with established institutional custodians. Revolut applies custodian due diligence before any assets are placed.

Customer assets are held 1:1 and are never lent out or rehypothecated. Revolut runs continuous risk monitoring to detect and prevent account takeovers, and support is available 24/7 through encrypted in-app chat.

Cryptoassets held with Revolut are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or by investor protection schemes.

Where Can You Trade on Revolut X?

Revolut X is available to eligible Revolut customers in the United Kingdom and across 30 EEA countries. Trading is accessible on desktop at exchange.revolut.com and through the dedicated Revolut X mobile apps on the App Store and Google Play.
