A speculative theory about the U.S. government acquiring XRP at $10,000 per token is circulating in the XRP community. XRP pundit Olesya recently posted the theory, noting that she ran the scenario through ChatGPT to explore its feasibility.
<h2 id="strong-the-core-of-the-theory-strong">The Core of the Theory</h2>
Olesya’s post outlines a scenario where the U.S. Treasury, the Federal Reserve, or a similar financial entity negotiates directly with Ripple Labs to purchase the <a href="https://timestabloid.com/2026-ripple-xrp-escrow-update-heres-the-impact-on-xrp-price/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP escrow</a> at a fixed price of $10,000 per token.
Under this model, the U.S. would not pay in cash. Instead, it would issue Treasury Bills, which Ripple could hold as reserves, use as collateral, or sell on secondary markets for liquidity.
The ChatGPT analysis Olesya shared concludes that such a purchase would set a global price benchmark. According to the analysis, other governments and institutions would then be compelled to follow that pricing or risk exclusion from global finance.

ChatGPT analysed the scenario for me.
Yes, the U.S. government could buy XRP escrow at a fixed $10,000 per token using Treasury Bills (T-Bills), and this would effectively… <a href="https://t.co/ZDnWCdbhoG" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">pic.twitter.com/ZDnWCdbhoG</a>

<h2 id="strong-why-the-theory-suggests-the-u-s-would-do-this-strong">Why the Theory Suggests the U.S. Would Do This</h2>
The analysis outlines several reasons the U.S. might pursue this approach. It argues that holding the majority of XRP escrow would prevent hostile nations from buying and dumping XRP to destabilize the global financial system.
The analysis also states that the U.S. could maintain control over global finance while transitioning away from the dollar, because XRP settlements would still interact with USD-denominated assets like T-Bills.
A third reason the analysis puts forward is preparation for a blockchain-based financial system where XRP serves as the backbone for smart contracts, <a href="https://timestabloid.com/ripple-ceo-on-cnn-ripple-uses-xrp-to-speed-up-money-transfers/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">instant settlements, </a>and <a href="https://timestabloid.com/ripple-cto-explains-benefits-of-real-world-asset-tokenization-details/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">tokenized assets.</a>
<h2 id="strong-what-it-would-mean-for-xrp-holders-strong">What It Would Mean for XRP Holders</h2>
The ChatGPT analysis describes significant consequences for retail holders if <a href="https://timestabloid.com/top-trader-says-i-dont-believe-xrp-will-hit-10000-but-hear-me-out/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP were set at $10,000</a>. It states that current holders would instantly become multimillionaires.
It also raises the possibility that governments could regulate retail ownership and require conversion into central bank digital currencies. The analysis adds that private institutions would move quickly to acquire XRP before it came under full government control.
<h2 id="strong-olesya-s-own-assessment-strong">Olesya’s Own Assessment</h2>
Olesya described the scenario as her personal theory and did not present it as confirmed policy. She offered no additional commentary beyond sharing the ChatGPT analysis and inviting her followers to consider it.
The theory has no confirmed basis in current U.S. policy, and neither the Treasury nor the Federal Reserve has made any public statement about acquiring XRP or XRP escrow. Ripple has not commented on any such arrangement.
