Aviva Investors has moved to tokenize its fund products on the XRP Ledger through a partnership with Ripple, bringing a tokenized USD liquidity offering onto public blockchain rails and marking another institutional step into on-chain finance.
The asset manager outlined its plan to tokenize products with Ripple in a company announcement, positioning the XRP Ledger as the settlement and issuance network for the effort. The move places a recognized institutional asset manager directly onto an altcoin-linked public blockchain. The tie-up with Ripple to tokenize funds on the XRP Ledger was also reported by CoinDesk, which framed the arrangement as part of a broader institutional push toward tokenized finance.
Why the XRP Ledger Choice Matters for Institutional Tokenization

The selection of the XRP Ledger, rather than a private or permissioned chain, is the defining detail of the story. It extends the network’s relevance beyond the payments narratives that have historically dominated XRPL coverage. For readers tracking altcoin adoption, an established asset manager choosing a public, XRP-linked ledger as issuance infrastructure signals growing institutional comfort with settling regulated products on open networks. That comfort has been building elsewhere, from XRP’s arrival on regulated exchange venues to wider institutional product rollouts.
Custody remains a central requirement for any institutional tokenization program, and Ripple’s custody arm Komainu sits within the ecosystem supporting such deployments.

What the Launch Signals for Tokenized Real-World Asset Adoption

A tokenized liquidity fund represents a traditional financial product being brought onto blockchain rails, the core mechanic behind the real-world asset trend. Aviva Investors’ participation adds an incumbent name to that shift.
Asset-manager involvement matters for market credibility because it brings regulated distribution, compliance frameworks, and institutional balance sheets to a space often driven by crypto-native firms. It mirrors the direction of other legacy financial names, including Morgan Stanley’s move into crypto-linked products.
The measured takeaway for crypto readers is that institutional tokenization is expanding onto public altcoin networks rather than staying confined to private ledgers, a pattern also visible in mainstream firms integrating crypto rails. The scope and timing of further product launches were not detailed in the available materials.
