Ethereum is back in the spotlight this week. A wave of whale activity, a fresh golden cross, and new ETF listings are shaping where ETH may go next.
The Ethereum price sits near $1,907 at the time of writing. Traders are watching a few key levels closely, and on-chain data is giving mixed signals.

Whale wallets sold or moved around 226,435 ETH in the past 24 hours. That is close to $430 million in value.
This is one of the largest spikes in whale activity seen in recent weeks. Big moves like this often happen before a shift in trend.

Looking at the daily chart, ETH has been climbing inside a rising channel since early July. The price bounced off lows near $1,600 and has since pushed above its 20, 50, and 100-day EMAs.
The RSI sits near 56 to 59, which is a neutral to mildly bullish zone. It is not overbought yet, leaving some room to run.
Here is a quick look at the main levels traders are tracking:

<h4>Did Ethereum just form a golden cross?</h4>
Yes. ETH&nbsp;recently completed a golden cross on the daily chart. This happens when a shorter-term moving average crosses above a longer-term one.
On-chain data from Glassnode points to $1,980 to $2,080 as the first major resistance zone following this cross. If bulls manage to push through that range, the next stop many are watching is $2,773.
That target lines up with a heavy cluster of realized price distribution, based on the URPD chart shared by Ali Charts.
<h4>Is altcoin season starting in 2026?</h4>
<a href="https://x.com/JavonTM1/status/2082090304262312017" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Analyst Javon Marks pointed</a> to a pattern that has shown up before past alt-season rallies. He noted that MACD bull patterns have coincided with major altcoin accumulation phases in prior cycles.
The same setup appears to be forming again now. Some traders believe the shift into alt-season has quietly been underway since around January 2026.
If that pattern plays out again, altcoins broadly, including Ethereum, could see another expansion phase.<img alt="Analyst Javon Marks pointed to a pattern" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/4D5bskZDcaKuQsrNJBuiFdKjMAj4BBLgZo9Q30bo.jpg" width="300" title="Analyst Javon Marks pointed to a pattern">
<h4>How are Ethereum ETFs performing lately?</h4>
Ethereum's ETF story keeps growing too. According to Odaily, the Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust (MSSE) began trading on NYSE Arca on July 28, bringing the total number of listed spot ETH ETFs to 11.
MSSE pulled in $5.15 million in net inflows on its first day, with $19.03 million in trading volume, per SoSoValue data.
BlackRock's ETHB led all ETH ETFs in daily inflows, adding $5.91 million. Its total cumulative inflow now stands at $529 million.
Across all Ethereum spot ETFs, total net assets sit at $10.50 billion. That works out to about 4.53% of Ethereum's total market cap. Cumulative net inflows across all funds have reached $11.21 billion.<img alt="Ethereum ETFs performing lately" src="https://d3iuzwoiyg9qa8.cloudfront.net/webadmin/storage/public/commonEditerImage/WAhc8MOqjDqTNh6axEx0MG5zmDr77B8gL7N0PARJ.jpg" width="300" title="Ethereum ETFs performing lately">
<h4>Ethereum Price Prediction: What Comes Next?</h4>
<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/price-prediction/ethereum-price-prediction-august-2026" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ETH&nbsp;sits at a</a> decision point. The golden cross and ETF inflows support a bullish case, while the whale-driven sell pressure adds uncertainty.
Holding above $1,733 keeps the broader uptrend intact. A close below that level could stall momentum and pull ETH back toward the $1,845 EMA zone.
On the upside, clearing $1,980-$2,080 opens the door toward $2,524 and then $2,773. Nothing here is guaranteed, and markets can shift fast in either direction.
