Doge Protocol is a community driven project that aspires to solve real world problems.

Doge Protocol is an upcoming platform consisting of decentralized networks, smart contracts and apps. The primary component of this platform will be a quantum-resistant blockchain that supports smart contracts, satellite chains & tokens. In order to secure Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin from quantum computer threats (Y2Q problem), Doge Protocol will multi-fork these blockchains along with the DogeP tokens, to create one large quantum resistant blockchain. When was Doge Protocol launched?

The Doge Protocol initiative started in May 2021. Subsequently, the DogeP ERC20 tokens were released in Sep 2021 after prior announcements starting Aug 2021.

What is DogeP Token?

Doge Protocol coins and tokens will be utility tokens in the Doge Protocol Platform, used for:

• Fees for processing transactions and storing data.
• Running validator nodes on the network.
• Bootstrapping the blockchain.

DogeP is an ERC20 token that was released in Sep 2021. When mainnet launches, holders of this token can get corresponding coins in the quantum-resistant blockchain. The steps to get the coins from tokens will be published well in advance before the mainnet block is created, with wide announcements.

Since the Doge Protocol blockchain will use proof-of-stake consensus, an initial set of validators are required to solve the chicken & egg problem of signing genesis transactions . The holders of this token can choose to become these initial validators, to bootstrap the blockchain. A further whitepaper will be published that details how this bootstrapping is performed in a quantum-resistant manner.

What is the total & circulating supply of DogeP tokens?

The max supply is 100 trillion tokens. 100% of these tokens were added to liquidity as part of the fair launch. 50% was added to UniSwap and 50% was added to SushiSwap.

How does Doge Protocol blockchain achieve Quantum Resistance?

Doge Protocol is the first and only blockchain as of May 2023 to utilize Hyrbid Post Quantum Cryptography. Testnet T3 (launched on Feb 22nd, 2023) uses the Hybrid PQC digital signature algorithm to secure accounts. This asymmetric cryptography scheme uses a hybrid Falcon-ed25519 combo for signing transactions and securing wallets.

Falcon is a digital signature scheme that has been standardized by NIST while EdDSA (ed25519) has been selected Feb 2023 by NIST for inclusion in the FIPS 186-5 standard.

Kyber is used to secure inter-node communication (key exchange). In subsequent testnets and mainnet, inter-node communication may use hybrid key-exchange and Dilithium instead of Falcon, for node-identity, to mitigate side-channel attacks on Falcon (which is more susceptible to timing attacks).
