Launching almost 42 years to the day after the initial release of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the BabelFish project is a brand reboot of the “Guide” as fans call it, which focuses on bringing the Guide back to its pre-2005 movie roots, and rebranding the the audio-visual imagery associated with the series that permeates the internet at this time.

Featuring one of the most based, notoriously doxxed teams in DeFi, a Certik audit with Skynet coverage, Certik LP sharing support and a huge budget, BabelFish is showcasing a massive real-world marketing campaign. Almost 6 months in planning and development before even launching, BabelFish consists of a huge viral marketing push (with a signature song, music video, and dance challenge on Tik Tok), mintable NFTs of characters and items from the books, as well as an NFT marketplace and a HHGTTG NFT game.

BabelFish is tapping into the large community of Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy lovers who have long cherished the unique humour and bizarre philosophical ideas presented in the book. By reaching out to fans beyond the crypto space, within Guide communities across Facebook and the rest of the internet, BabelFish is creating a place for those fans to come and hang out in a thematic atmosphere, and via the team’s DeFi education network (ClearMoon), they hope to increase crypto and DeFi adoption in general. The community is a large and untapped one. And did we mention it's Elon Musk's favourite book? A quote from in 2013:

"I guess when I was around 12 or 15…I had an existential crisis, and I was reading various books on trying to figure out the meaning of life and what does it all mean? It all seemed quite meaningless. So then I read ‘Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy,’ which is quite positive, I think, and it highlighted an important point, which is that a lot of times the question is harder than the answer. And if you can properly phrase the question, then the answer is the easy part.” (CNBC, 2019)

At BabeFish, the team genuinely loves the brand, and we don’t only share the same vision, but we agree with Mr. Musk. It was by tracing backwards from the answer (what is a successful meme token), to the fundamentals, that we were able to define what it took to create one. That’s why we chose to reinvent the meme token, taking cues from everything from NyanCat and historical memes, the gold standards of Doge and Shiba, and a love for the Guide, and created, well, not a dog coin. But a fish token.
