The Bitcoin Standard Hashrate Token (BTCST) was launched on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) on Dec. 13, 2020. It is collateralized by Bitcoin’s (BTC) hashrate, with each token representing 0.1 TH/s of Bitcoin mining power at an efficiency of 60 W/TH. As such, miners contribute their computational power to the platform in exchange for newly minted BTCST tokens.

BTCST’s goal is to bridge liquidity to Bitcoin’s mining market. This will allow users to get exposure to mining rewards and hashpower of any size, at a low cost. The ultimate goal of the app is to increase the liquidity and efficiency of mining power markets.

OpenDAO calls itself “the token of the metaverse” and aims to become a central asset for the metaverse and Web3, in a similar fashion as stablecoins like USDC. OpenDAO launched its SOS token on Christmas Day 2021 via an airdrop to all users that had bought, sold or traded NFTs on marketplace OpenSea. The declared goal was to create a way to pay tribute to the NFT creators, collectors and marketplaces and nurture the NFT ecosystem.

Boundless is a universal protocol designed to provide every blockchain with the power of ZK. Boundless was founded in 2022 by RISC Zero, the team behind the first RISC-V general-purpose zero-knowledge virtual machine (zkVM). Boundless was built to address a core limitation of current blockchains: every node must re-execute every transaction, meaning throughput is limited to the slowest node in the network. By verifying proofs instead of re-executing transactions, Boundless shifts blockchains from duplicated execution to proof-based verification, dramatically increasing capacity.
