XRP now has its own official account on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, managed jointly by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation. The account is positioned as a dedicated communications channel for XRP-related announcements, separate from changes to the XRP Ledger protocol itself.

XRP has launched an official account on X, distinct from the existing Ripple and XRP Ledger Foundation accounts.

The account is co-managed by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation.

Readers should treat the account as a communications channel, not as a signal of any protocol-level or token-economics change.

XRP Gets Its Own Official Voice on X

Until now, XRP-related updates were distributed across multiple accounts, including those maintained separately by Ripple and by the XRP Ledger Foundation. The launch of a dedicated XRP account on X consolidates those communications under a single, identifiable handle that followers can treat as an authoritative source for XRP-specific news. For related coverage, see Standard Chartered Launches Bitcoin and Ethereum Trading.

The announcement identifies the account as official, meaning followers can use it to verify XRP-related updates rather than relying on third-party aggregators or unofficial community accounts. As with any social media channel, users are encouraged to corroborate significant claims through additional official sources before acting on them. For related coverage, see Base Launches Earn & Borrow: What It Means for Users.

This kind of move toward consolidated social presence is not unique to XRP. Other blockchain projects and institutional players have similarly centralized their communications as the industry has matured. Ripple itself has a history of expanding its institutional partnerships, including its work with Meritz Securities on institutional custody and tokenization, and an official XRP account complements that broader communications strategy.

Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation as Co-Managers

The management arrangement involves two distinct organizations. Ripple is the San Francisco-based company that created XRP and continues to hold a significant portion of the token supply. The XRP Ledger Foundation is an independent nonprofit established to support the open-source XRP Ledger (XRPL) network.

Having both entities co-manage the account is a meaningful structural choice. It signals that the account is intended to represent the broader XRP ecosystem rather than serving purely as a Ripple corporate channel. However, the research brief identifies this as a social account management arrangement, not a change to governance over the XRP Ledger itself.

The distinction matters. Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation are related but separate entities, and neither one "owns" XRP or the XRPL in the way a company owns a product. The new X account does not alter that relationship; it creates a shared communications surface above it. Readers following developments in institutional crypto adoption may find context in how other projects have formalized similar arrangements, such as Mastercard's recent push into global stablecoin payments, which also required coordinated messaging across multiple stakeholders.

What the New Channel Means for XRP Followers

For holders, developers, and observers of the XRP ecosystem, the practical benefit of an official account is straightforward: there is now a single, named channel to monitor for XRP-specific announcements. Posts from the account can be used as a baseline for verifying claims circulating in community forums or through unofficial sources.

The launch does not carry implications for XRP's technology, token economics, or regulatory standing. It is a communications infrastructure decision, not a protocol upgrade or token event. Anyone interpreting a social media account launch as a bullish or bearish signal for XRP's price should be aware that the research brief contains no data connecting the two.

On the cautious side, a single account co-managed by two organizations could introduce coordination complexity. Posts will need to reflect positions agreed upon by both Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation, which may mean slower responses to fast-moving developments compared to a single-owner account. The XRP community will be watching to see whether the account moves quickly on time-sensitive news or defaults to more measured, institutional messaging.

The broader trend toward formalized social presence in crypto is worth noting in context. Projects like NEAR, which recently launched NEAR Business for confidential multisig treasuries, are simultaneously expanding both their technical infrastructure and their public communications footprint. XRP's new account fits that pattern, even if the scope here is limited to social media rather than protocol development.

For now, the most reliable approach for anyone following XRP is to add the official account to their monitoring alongside the existing Ripple and XRP Ledger Foundation accounts, and to verify material announcements through official blog posts or regulatory filings when the stakes are high enough to warrant it.
