The move came as traders reassessed whether the recent rebound could be sustained.

Trading Volume and Market Cap Fall

Early Thursday, WLD traded around $0.5455, reflecting a 6.61% drop over the previous 24 hours. The token’s trading volume sank sharply, decreasing by approximately 38.5% alongside the selloff, which many analysts consider a sign of cooling momentum after the rapid rise.

Worldcoin’s total market capitalization settled near $2.08 billion, as tracked by token data platforms. However, the cryptocurrency managed to retain modest weekly gains, suggesting that the latest correction has not fully reversed its recovery.

Recent fluctuations mirror patterns observed earlier this year. In May, WLD reached an 11-week high before slipping back despite continued attention to OpenAI-adjacent projects. Similarly, June’s rally—which included attention from Maelstrom, backed by Arthur Hayes—came to an abrupt end when Hayes closed his position, highlighting the rapid shifts that characterize AI-related token markets.

Scheduled token releases do not necessarily prompt immediate selling, since recipients may opt to retain their holdings rather than add liquidity to exchanges.

Token Supply Dynamics and Corporate Holdings

Tokenomics.com reported that a scheduled vesting event on October 24 would make roughly 100.1 million WLD available, with an estimated value of $59 million based on current market prices. Of the total supply, 48.6% has been allocated for community distribution, 28.3% designated for private investors, and 23.1% set aside for insiders.

However, there is no consensus among token analytics providers regarding how these scheduled releases are classified. Such events should not automatically be viewed as significant inflows onto exchanges or direct increases to available supply.

Coinpaper’s recent analysis also emphasized that the unlocking process does not guarantee selling pressure, as many token holders may choose to keep their allocations. Meanwhile, Eightco identified a sizable WLD treasury position, offering further evidence of ongoing institutional participation in the ecosystem.

Nevertheless, these developments do not necessarily translate into immediate buying demand for WLD, even amid wider adoption of the World ID framework.

Technical Levels and Market Trends

Short-term technical analysis highlights an initial resistance zone near $0.596, with further resistance positioned around $0.624. Analysts report that a strong daily close above $0.60 could bolster the bullish outlook, possibly paving the way for a move toward the $0.62 to $0.66 range if volume increases.

On the downside, continued selling below $0.54 would likely put support at $0.50 to the test. A decisive move below this psychological level could shift sentiment even further, with attention turning to $0.45—representing additional downside risk of around 17% from current levels.

Momentum in the WLD market remains closely linked to demand for cutting-edge proof-of-personhood technologies. Still, prior research has noted that growing interest in artificial intelligence does not always equate to increased value for blockchain-based tokens.

Monitoring technical patterns and investor sentiment is increasingly important in such a volatile environment. In the meme token market, an internet trend can transform into millions of dollars of interest within days. According to data shared by Fomo App, a trade involving “Niu Lai”, which turned an initial $99 investment into approximately $370,000, stands out as a striking example. In these fast-moving markets, tracking not only prices but also the timing and token choices of investors is crucial. Fomo App integrates token discovery and trading in a single platform, complete with social feeds, investor rankings, and trade notifications. The platform enables users to follow meme token trends alongside investor activity.
