Pirate Chain Crypto News took a serious turn on October 14, 2026. Attackers used two transaction validation flaws to create about 39.82 million counterfeit ARRR. For a short time, the supply grew by roughly 20%.
The team has now rolled the chain back to block 4,176,944 and made version v6.0.14 mandatory. Here is what every Pirate Chain wallet holder, miner, and exchange needs to know.

The Pirate Chain exploit combined two separate failures. One flaw let the attacker bypass the issuance check. The other misread transaction output scripts. Together, they allowed new coins to appear in the transparent coinbase pool.
According to the team’s October 15 update, the new funds moved straight into the Sapling shielded pool. NonKYC, an exchange, spotted suspicious deposits and restricted the linked account. Because shielded transactions are private, the team says it cannot trace every later movement.
The project also says it found no sign of stolen notary keys. It reports no break in the cryptography behind shielded transactions. These are early findings. A full postmortem is still being written.

The team says Pirate Chain cannot be frozen or rolled back by one party. So the fix needed agreement. The community, node operators, mining pools, exchanges, and dPoW notaries all took part.
The chain returns to block 4,176,944, created on October 14 at 19:55:14 UTC. That is right before the exploit. Version v6.0.14 makes nodes reject the exploit block and every block built on it. The dPoW notaries will notarize the corrected chain, and the old branch gets no more notarizations.
The team says the fake coins are gone and balances return to their pre-exploit state.

Everyone must stop old versions and upgrade. This covers users, Treasure Chest and CLI node operators, miners, pools, exchanges, and service operators.
Here is what to expect:

The first start triggers a one-time full chain re-index.

A wallet scan then rebuilds your shielded balances.

The “Reindex and Rescan with Bootstrap” option can shorten the wait.

Do not interrupt the process. It can take a while.

Download only from official sources: the v6.0.14 GitHub release or the Pirate Chain full node wallet page. Never share your recovery phrase or private keys with anyone. Your Pirate Chain ARRR wallet only needs the official upgrade.

Pirate Chain Price Today and How It Connects to the News

The Pirate Chain price today is about $0.24, up 0.1% in 24 hours, based on CoinGecko data from October 22. The 24 hour range was $0.2381 to $0.2447. Market cap sits near $47.1 million, with about $547,688 in daily trading volume. Circulating supply is 196.214 million ARRR against a 200 million total.
That calm chart matches the team’s message that the rollback prevented lasting damage to supply. Still, a quiet price does not prove the chain is risk free. Trading volume is modest, and the Pirate Coin Crypto Price Today can move fast on thin liquidity. This data does not show what caused any price change.

The team says the counterfeit issuance is removed and the cap stays at 200 million ARRR. It also fixed several minor peer-to-peer networking bugs.
A corrected chain does not mean every service is back. Some exchanges may still pause deposits or withdrawals. Some wallets may still be scanning.
Check each exchange notice before you send funds. The team has not reported full tracing of shielded funds, and neither should anyone else. Follow Pirate Chain ARRR news from official accounts for updates.

The next steps are simple. Upgrade to v6.0.14, let your wallet finish its rescan, and confirm your balance. Then watch for the technical postmortem.
It should explain how the flaws slipped through and what safeguards will follow. For Pirate Chain Crypto news holders, that report will be the real test of trust.
