The crypto market is going through a fascinating arbitration phase between institutional capital and technical signals. While exchange-traded funds, Bitcoin ETFs, show red outflows exceeding $82 million in 24 hours, bitcoin’s price structure continues to form one of the most powerful bullish patterns in its history.

Recent nervousness around Fed decisions and inflation figures has left its mark on institutional investors. According to the latest data from SoSoValue, Bitcoin ETFs recorded net outflows of $82.39 million in 24 hours, bringing total assets under management to $104.29 billion. On that same day, October 16 to 17, 2026, Ethereum was not spared with $69.68 million in daily net outflows.

BTC in Consolidation: Heading Towards $90,000?

Despite these outflows concentrated over 24 hours, technical analysis paints a radically different picture. Bitcoin price is currently compressing within a falling wedge (bullish accumulation triangle) almost identical to the one that preceded the previous bullish impulse.

Experienced analysts like Mister Crypto and Crypto Rover emphasize that breaking above this consolidation zone would pave the way towards $87,000, then quickly propel bitcoin to the symbolic $90,000 mark. If the current support zone breaks under macroeconomic pressure, a temporary return to the $70,000 range would offer the last significant accumulation opportunity of the cycle.

Bitcoin Predictions: Towards the Parabolic Phase of the 500-Day Cycle?

In the short term, the market is witnessing a transfer of tokens from jittery hands to long-term investors (whales). If the Federal Reserve confirms a pause in its key rates at its upcoming October meeting, the end of the capital flight observed in the past 24 hours on Bitcoin ETFs could trigger a massive short squeeze, bringing BTC to new all-time highs.

In the longer term, the 500-day timing theory before and after the bitcoin halving continues to play out smoothly. Historically, each post-halving cycle reserves a major bullish acceleration in the months following the autumn consolidation phase. The leverage liquidations recorded this week purge the market and lay the foundation for a large-scale rally by the end of the fourth quarter (Q4) 2026.

Outflows from Bitcoin ETFs in 24 hours reflect temporary caution towards the Fed, but accumulation intensifies around $81,000. Breaking the bullish accumulation triangle could quickly propel BTC towards $90,000. Do you think bitcoin will reach $90,000 before the end of October?
