<p><a href="https://x.com/MemeCore_M" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@MemeCore_M</a> has become an omnichain platform through integrations with <a href="https://x.com/LayerZero_Core" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@LayerZero_Core</a> and <a href="https://x.com/StargateFinance" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@StargateFinance</a>. The move allows MemeCore native assets, including <a href="https://x.com/search?q=%24M&amp;src=cashtag_click" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">$M</a>, <a href="https://x.com/search?q=%24USDC&amp;src=cashtag_click" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">$USDC</a> and <a href="https://x.com/search?q=%24USDT&amp;src=cashtag_click" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">$USDT</a>, to be bridged to other networks.</p>
<p>The first supported networks are <a href="https://x.com/BNBChain" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@BNBChain</a> and Base, the Ethereum layer-2 network backed by <a href="https://x.com/Coinbase" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@Coinbase</a> (<a href="https://x.com/Base" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@Base</a>).</p>
<h2 id="what-the-integration-changes">What the integration changes</h2>
<p>MemeCore describes itself as a Layer 1 blockchain built for "Meme 2.0." <a href="https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/memecore" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">CoinGecko's project profile</a> says the network aims to move meme-based assets away from pure speculation and towards sustainable cultural and economic use. Until now, users who wanted to move assets between MemeCore and other chains had fewer native routes available. Linking to LayerZero and Stargate gives $M and stablecoins a path into larger liquidity pools on other networks.</p>
<p>The two protocols play different roles. According to <a href="https://docs.layerzero.network/v2/concepts/applications/stargate-finance" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">LayerZero's documentation</a>, Stargate provides onchain liquidity contracts and also runs a unified bridge front end that routes transfers for Stargate assets and LayerZero Omnichain Fungible Tokens (OFTs). LayerZero supplies the messaging layer underneath. A <a href="https://www.notboring.co/p/layerzero-the-language-of-the-omnnichain" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Not Boring analysis</a> notes that bridges such as Stargate operate on top of LayerZero rather than being part of it.</p>
<h2 id="why-it-matters-for-m-holders">Why it matters for $M holders</h2>
<p>MemeCore is EVM-compatible, according to <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/cmc-ai/memecore/what-is/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">CoinMarketCap</a>, which makes connections to other EVM networks such as BNB Chain and Base technically straightforward. The M token is used for transaction fees, staking and the network's Proof of Meme mechanism, <a href="https://blogth.bitazza.com/en/blog/get-to-know-memecore" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitazza reports</a>, so easier cross-chain access could widen where the token can be held and used.</p>
<p>Bridges remain a known risk area in crypto. A 2023 <a href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20230119005177/en/LayerZero-Labs%E2%80%99-Stargate-Finance-Integrates-With-Metis-to-Facilitate-First-Blockchain-Expansion-Since-Launch" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Business Wire release</a> on a separate Stargate integration cited a study indicating roughly half of DeFi exploits occur on cross-chain bridges. Users moving assets between networks should check official routes and confirm token addresses before transferring.</p>
<p>MemeCore has not been the only chain to take this route. Other networks, including <a href="https://www.starknet.io/blog/connecting-starknet-to-160-ecosystems-via-layerzero/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Starknet</a>, have also connected to LayerZero and Stargate to access wider multichain liquidity.</p>
