Crypto Michael, a well-known cryptocurrency analyst on X (formerly Twitter), sparked widespread discussion among XRP investors with a recent post. In his message, he addressed XRP holders directly, expressing confidence about an imminent upward price movement. This statement quickly attracted attention from both supporters and skeptics in the XRP community.

Community divided over price outlook

The reactions to Crypto Michael’s post were mixed. Some community members expressed enthusiasm, speculating about the next possible price milestones for XRP. One user suggested a short-term target of $2.3, while another predicted a move up to $2. Other participants questioned the likelihood of such gains materializing in the near future.

Skepticism was also present. A few commenters pointed out that similar predictions have been made many times before without significant changes in XRP’s price. Some suggested that the “next leg up” might already have occurred, with references to price levels as low as $0.03. Another community member questioned Crypto Michael’s track record, noting that bullish forecasts have frequently been repeated over the years without major developments.

Crypto Michael’s history of optimistic calls led some to wonder if these predictions are simply a regular occurrence in the XRP space, with little to show for them so far.

He has built a substantial following on social media by regularly commenting on market trends and price action.

Regulatory and institutional developments support sentiment

The latest optimism around XRP is also linked to fundamental shifts in the digital asset’s legal status and ecosystem. In March 2026, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) jointly classified XRP as a digital commodity. This clarity on regulatory treatment has been viewed as a significant advantage for institutional adoption.

Ripple, the fintech company behind XRP and the XRP Ledger, continues to secure key partnerships. In August, Ripple announced a cross-border payments collaboration with Jeonbuk Bank in South Korea. Additionally, Ripple and SettleMint entered into a strategic alliance with regulated institutions to build a unified platform for digital asset custody, issuance, and lifecycle management, launching initially in Asia.

In addition to regulatory advances, the XRP Ledger surpassed $3 billion in tokenized real-world assets earlier this year, reflecting rising institutional and enterprise activity.

Rakuten Wallet, a major digital asset platform in Japan, integrated XRP for 44 million users, expanding access to the cryptocurrency. Also, RLUSD, a regulated stablecoin, launched in Japan in June through SBI Holdings, further boosting XRP’s utility in the region.
