XRP has returned to a price region that traders have monitored closely in recent months, sparking fresh debate among market participants. Crypto Rover, a well-known cryptocurrency analyst and YouTuber, drew attention to the $1.55 level, describing it as a critical threshold for the digital asset’s next major move. He suggested that surpassing this mark could set the stage for a swift rally toward $1.80.

Traders debate $1.55 threshold

Crypto Rover asked the XRP community to share their price targets for the latest market cycle, and his post generated lively responses ranging from cautious support to enthusiastic projections. Many traders converged on the importance of $1.55, viewing it as the immediate area of focus.

Some commenters emphasized the need for XRP not only to reclaim $1.55, but to hold it convincingly, supported by strong trading volume. One participant argued that failing to do so would keep the downward pressure intact. Others suggested that any bullish narrative hinges on a solid breakout above this barrier, and several expressed satisfaction if the price simply stabilized above $1.55.

Traders consistently highlighted $1.55 as a deciding point for $XRP, with some insisting that any move toward $1.80 rests entirely on this key area holding firm under increased volume.

While optimism surrounded the possibility of new highs, one analyst noted that reaching $1.80 may prompt sellers to emerge, especially around the August 22 peak near $1.70, suggesting supply could intensify just below the ambitious target. Skeptics in the discussion cautioned that further rejection at $1.55 would reinforce bearish sentiment.

Range of price forecasts emerge

Price targets from the community varied widely beyond the $1.80 mark. Some traders remained conservative, aiming for $1.58 to $2 in the near term. Others set ambitious targets, with estimates reaching as high as $4.50, or extending to a range between $4.80 and $5.20. One trader disclosed an open long position, planning multiple take profits as the price approaches defined levels.

A few participants took a more reserved stance, opting to watch from the sidelines until they spotted clear shifts in liquidity. Meanwhile, some expressed skepticism, projecting lower price points such as $1 or $0.90 should downward trends persist.

Chart shows recovery and resistance

XRP’s daily chart reveals a rebound from lows around $0.97, with a rapid surge in late August that saw prices test $1.70 before pulling back. The asset experienced a falling wedge pattern through September and October, marked by a series of declining highs and lows. During the correction, price action tested support in the $1.23 to $1.26 zone.

This support coincides closely with the 0.5 Fibonacci retracement level at $1.2570, which traders frequently use to identify possible turning points in price structure.

Two notable resistance levels have emerged: the first at $1.54 and the second at $1.77. Crypto Rover identified the $1.55 region as the pivotal trigger point for any upward move to $1.80. Traders suggest that a sustained breakout, driven by high volume, must overcome both resistance zones before $1.80 becomes viable in the short term.

Crypto Rover argued that regaining $1.55 could open the door to $1.80 in short order, provided that trading volume confirms the move.
