SOL price hovered near $101.50 on September 14 following a recovery from $98.38 reached on September 11

A symmetrical triangle pattern has developed on the 4-hour timeframe with boundaries at $100 and $103

Trader Ella indicates that sustained daily acceptance above $106 may target $109–$110.50

Dropping below $98 on a daily close could lead to a decline toward $94.50–$96

The Transaction V1 format upgrade expands maximum transaction capacity from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes—a threefold increase

The week beginning September 8 saw Solana start at $103.33 before declining to a multi-week bottom of $98.38 on September 11. By September 14, the asset had climbed back to approximately $101.50, representing a weekly decline of about 2.2%.

The price remains confined beneath the $103–$105 resistance area, where selling pressure has consistently emerged to halt upward momentum. The daily Relative Strength Index reads 56.17, positioned above the neutral 50 threshold but trailing its moving average of 60.80, indicating weakening bullish momentum.

Market analyst CryptoJack observed that $SOL is nearing a critical resistance threshold, suggesting that a successful breach “could see the start of a strong bullish run”—emphasizing his active monitoring of this level.

If SOL breaks above it, we could see the start of a strong bullish run.

The 4-hour chart reveals SOL consolidating within a symmetrical triangle formation. Upper resistance tracks near $103, while ascending support approaches the $100–$100.70 region. The Supertrend indicator currently stands at $104.08 and maintains a bearish signal, creating additional overhead resistance above the triangle structure.

The Aroon indicator displays Aroon Up at 85.71% against Aroon Down at 0%, suggesting recent price peaks occurred more recently than new troughs. However, a definitive breakout remains pending.

Critical Price Thresholds

Technical analyst Ella pinpointed $98.50–$100 as the crucial support band underpinning Solana’s current bounce. According to her analysis, daily acceptance above $106 would reintroduce $109–$110.50 as viable targets, whereas a close beneath $98 would expose the $94.50–$96 zone.

CoinGlass liquidation heat maps reveal concentrated short liquidations between $102.60–$102.90 and $103.60–$104. Breaking through $103 could trigger cascading short closures, potentially accelerating upward price momentum. Conversely, long liquidation clusters are positioned around $98.50–$98.80 on the downside.

Transaction V1 Format Goes Live

Beyond price dynamics, Solana’s Transaction V1 format upgrade activated on September 14 at approximately 01:00 UTC. This enhancement increases the maximum transaction capacity from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes—representing more than a threefold expansion from the previous constraint.

This upgrade provides developers with enhanced capacity for sophisticated operations, encompassing multi-signature corporate wallets, zero-knowledge proof implementations, and complex multi-step trading sequences within single atomic transactions.

Unlike Solana’s defined transaction size cap, Ethereum employs a dynamic gas limit system without fixed size restrictions. This upgrade reduces that architectural difference. Legacy transaction formats continue to function, though applications and services processing Solana blockchain data must implement V1 compatibility to prevent transaction parsing errors.

The Federal Reserve’s September 16 monetary policy announcement remains on the horizon, potentially introducing heightened volatility throughout cryptocurrency markets, including SOL.
