Solana and the XRP Ledger are often viewed as separate blockchain ecosystems, but a new development reported by Crypto Blockchain Researcher BankXRP on X points to growing connectivity between the two networks.
BankXRP announced that Solana is now live on the XRP Ledger’s decentralized exchange, with SOL made available through Axelar’s cross-chain infrastructure.
In the post, BankXRP stated that “SOL, wrapped and issued via Axelar’s cross-chain infrastructure, is now natively tradable on XRPL.” The researcher described the development as providing “Cross-chain liquidity, native settlement,” highlighting the ability to bring an asset from the Solana ecosystem into the XRPL trading environment.
The development gives <a href="https://timestabloid.com/top-validator-leaves-xrp-ledger-permanently-with-his-project-heres-why/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP Ledger</a> users access to SOL without requiring the asset to remain confined to Solana-based markets. It also creates another connection between two major blockchain ecosystems with different infrastructure and user bases.

<h2 id="strong-how-axelar-enables-the-connection-strong">How Axelar Enables the Connection</h2>
The integration relies on <a href="https://timestabloid.com/axelar-bridge-unlocks-new-horizons-for-xrp-utility/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Axelar’s cross-chain infrastructure </a>to facilitate the movement and representation of SOL on the XRP Ledger. In simple terms, a wrapped asset represents an asset from one blockchain on another network. In this case, SOL originating from <a href="https://timestabloid.com/western-union-launches-stablecard-on-solana-heres-what-it-means-for-users/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Solana</a> can be represented on the XRPL so that it can participate in trading on the ledger’s decentralized exchange.
This process allows users to interact with an asset associated with another blockchain while using the XRPL environment. Axelar provides the infrastructure required to connect the separate networks and support cross-chain asset movement.
BankXRP specifically highlighted the role of Axelar in bringing SOL to the XRPL DEX rather than presenting the development as a change to the underlying SOL token on the Solana blockchain.
<h2 id="strong-expanding-xrpl-dex-trading-strong">Expanding XRPL DEX Trading</h2>
The addition of SOL could expand the range of assets available to traders using the XRP Ledger’s decentralized exchange. XRPL already provides built-in decentralized trading functionality, while cross-chain integrations can increase the number of assets and liquidity sources accessible through that infrastructure.
For XRP Ledger users, the arrival of SOL creates another trading option and establishes a direct connection between XRPL-based markets and Solana liquidity. Traders interested in both ecosystems can potentially access SOL through XRPL without relying exclusively on centralized exchanges.
For Solana users, the integration provides another route into the <a href="https://timestabloid.com/huge-news-for-the-xrp-ledger-ecosystem/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP Ledger ecosystem</a>. It also demonstrates how assets from different networks can become accessible across multiple blockchain environments.

<h2 id="strong-a-move-toward-greater-interoperability-strong">A Move Toward Greater Interoperability</h2>
BankXRP’s announcement also reflects a larger development across the cryptocurrency industry. Blockchain networks increasingly seek ways to connect their liquidity and applications rather than operate independently.
The researcher summarized the development with the phrase “Cross-chain liquidity, native settlement,” emphasizing the combination of liquidity from one ecosystem with the settlement capabilities of another.
As more assets gain cross-chain access, interoperability could become an increasingly important part of decentralized finance.
