In the volatile world of cryptocurrency, where Bitcoin’s dominance often casts a long shadow over altcoins, few projects stand out as resilient underdogs like Arbitrum (ARB). As we edge into late 2025, with BTC hovering near all-time highs, Layer 2 solutions are quietly positioning themselves for the next leg up. Renowned analyst Michaël van de Poppe recently spotlighted ARB, calling it “extremely undervalued” and a prime accumulation target. His weekly chart of the ARB/BTC pair paints a compelling picture: after months of grinding lower, the token is tracing an upward crawl from multi-year lows, hinting at an impending breakout.Arbitrum, the Ethereum scaling solution backed by Offchain Labs, has long been a cornerstone of DeFi efficiency.

Launched in 2021, it boasts over $20 billion in total value locked (TVL) as of November 2025, processing millions of transactions daily with fees that remain fractions of a cent. Its optimistic rollup technology not only slashes costs but also enhances Ethereum’s throughput without compromising security— a vital edge in an era of exploding on-chain activity from NFTs, gaming, and real-world asset tokenization. Recent upgrades, including the highly anticipated Stylus for seamless EVM compatibility with languages like Rust and C++, have further solidified its developer appeal.

Technical Breakout: ARB/BTC Flips Structure After 2025 Capitulation

Partnerships with heavyweights like JPMorgan and integrations with protocols such as GMX and Uniswap underscore ARB’s real-world utility, far beyond speculative hype.Yet, despite these strengths, ARB trades at a market cap under $3 billion—peanuts compared to Ethereum’s behemoth status or even rivals like Optimism. Market sentiment has been brutal, fueled by the “altcoins to zero” narrative that grips bearish cycles. Van de Poppe’s analysis cuts through the noise: the ARB/BTC chart shows a descending blue trendline breached on the weekly timeframe, with volume spikes confirming buyer interest.

Macro Tailwinds: L2 Adoption Set to Accelerate in 2026

A pink resistance box looms around 0.000025 BTC, but breaking it could ignite a 50-100% rally in the pair, translating to outsized USD gains if BTC holds steady.Looking ahead, regulatory tailwinds like clearer U.S. guidelines on stablecoins and the impending Ethereum Dencun upgrade’s full rollout could supercharge L2 adoption. With institutional inflows into DeFi projected to hit $100 billion by 2026, ARB’s low entry point screams opportunity. As van de Poppe notes, “Good times are ahead.” For investors eyeing the altseason spark, ARB isn’t just undervalued—it’s a launchpad.
