In the race for the best crypto ROI in 2025, developers play a crucial role in driving value. With growing crypto grant programs and developer-centric initiatives, 2025 is shaping up to be a year of significant opportunities for those building and contributing to blockchain ecosystems.
Among the top cryptos to buy for high ROI, BlockDAG, Ethena (ENA), MemeCore, and Ethereum Classic (ETC) stand out for their focus on developer engagement, strong technical features, and clear paths to reward.
BlockDAG’s “Amazing Chain Race” and its $50,000 developer grants, Ethena’s surge driven by DeFi tools, MemeCore’s gamified contracts, and Ethereum Classic’s stability for Solidity developers are all critical factors that make these coins attractive investments for developers.

1. BlockDAG (BDAG): Developer-Focused and Event-Driven Momentum

BlockDAG is positioning itself as one of the top cryptos to buy for developers, particularly with its developer-centric approach and robust technical features. The “Amazing Chain Race”, a six-phase global buildathon, has already attracted over 100 projects, to reach 500+ by launch. The initiative offers $50,000 in developer grants and bounties, available for both solo developers and teams building tools, decentralised applications (dApps), and services on the BDAG testnet.
BlockDAG’s blockchain infrastructure is now live, featuring 15K transactions per second (TPS) throughput, Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility, and a real-time explorer. These features make it an attractive option for developers looking to build in a high-performance environment. The platform’s focus on accelerating smart contract libraries, cross-chain tooling, and DeFi integrations aligns with the needs of the developer community, positioning BlockDAG as a major player in the space.

In addition to the technical features, BlockDAG’s presale fundraising success, raising over $435 million, and its ongoing presale coin sale (currently priced at $0.005) highlight the project’s growing market momentum.
With billions of coins already sold and a planned price increase from $0.005 to $0.0078, BlockDAG offers an appealing opportunity for developers to participate in a project that combines early entry, substantial developer incentives, and strong institutional backing. The upcoming Keynote 4 event on November 26 is likely to act as a catalyst, further driving developer engagement and market momentum.

2. Ethena (ENA): DeFi Innovation and Cross-Chain Lending Tools

Ethena (ENA) has seen impressive growth, with its price surging from $0.13 in January 2024 to a peak of $0.58 by October 2025, marking a +346% increase. This growth is largely attributed to Ethena’s innovation in the synthetic dollar space and its active integration into decentralised finance (DeFi) protocols. Ethena has recently launched cross-chain lending tools, making it a top pick for protocol-layer developers looking to expand their DeFi offerings.
Ethena’s ability to leverage synthetic assets within DeFi ecosystems and its focus on cross-chain interoperability set it apart as a strong candidate for developers seeking to build next-generation financial products. The project’s developer-focused initiatives, including its accessible DeFi tools, make Ethena a solid investment for those looking to get involved in the booming DeFi sector.
With increasing demand for cross-chain functionality in DeFi, Ethena is poised for further growth, and its focus on supporting developers building on its platform creates a dynamic environment for both innovation and ROI. As more developers integrate with Ethena’s DeFi infrastructure, the value of the platform, along with ENA’s price, is likely to continue increasing.

3. MemeCore (MNT): Gamified Smart Contracts & High Developer Activity

MemeCore (MNT) is one of the more unique projects in the list, blending gamified smart contracts with the power of token-generating meme engines. Launched in early 2024, MemeCore’s price surged from $0.00085 to $0.0042 by July 2025, representing a +394% increase. What sets MemeCore apart is its focus on Layer-2 solutions for meme-driven tokens and dApps. The platform’s gamified features have led to a 230% rise in developer activity on its testnet, showing the increasing demand for its tools and services.
For developers, MemeCore provides an accessible and engaging platform that allows them to experiment with smart contract creation and token generation in a fun and interactive environment. The project’s gamified approach has attracted a growing community of developers, eager to build on a platform that offers both creative freedom and practical blockchain functionality.
MemeCore’s combination of gamification, developer rewards, and Layer-2 solutions for meme coins provides developers with new ways to innovate and build. With its growing ecosystem and the ability to reward developers who contribute to its platform, MemeCore is an excellent choice for those seeking the best crypto ROI in the space, especially for those focused on niche markets and creative blockchain applications.

4. Ethereum Classic (ETC): A Stable and Secure Platform for Solidity Developers

Ethereum Classic (ETC) has maintained a stable position in the crypto ecosystem, with its price moving from $19.65 in January 2024 to $26.10 in October 2025, a +32.8% increase. Despite being a more mature project, Ethereum Classic remains a strong platform for developers, particularly those working with Solidity. ETC’s backward compatibility with the Ethereum network makes it an attractive option for developers looking to migrate or build on a Proof of Work (PoW) chain that offers high security and stability.
For developers focused on creating decentralised applications (dApps) or smart contracts using Solidity, Ethereum Classic continues to serve as a reliable fallback for high-security execution. Its focus on security and backward compatibility makes it a strong contender for developers who require a robust, secure, and decentralised platform to build on.

Although Ethereum Classic’s growth is more stable and incremental, its continued presence in the ecosystem as a leading PoW chain ensures it remains an important option for Solidity developers. The steady, reliable nature of Ethereum Classic makes it a valuable choice for developers seeking security and consistency in their blockchain projects.

Bottom Line

When it comes to the best crypto to buy for high ROI in 2025, BlockDAG stands out with its combination of institutional backing, early-stage momentum, and developer-focused initiatives.
With the launch of the “Amazing Chain Race” and significant developer grants, BlockDAG is positioned to offer strong returns for developers building within its ecosystem. While Ethena’s DeFi tools, MemeCore’s gamified smart contracts, and Ethereum Classic’s stability are all valuable, BlockDAG’s event-driven growth and institutional support make it the top crypto for developers seeking the highest ROI in 2025.
