Ethereum

The second-largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum (ETH), is facing renewed pressure, having slipped under the key $3,500 support level in recent sessions. According to recent data, U.S.-listed spot Ethereum ETFs registered net outflows of around US$136 million, compounding existing technical and macro risks.
What’s driving the decline? Firstly, institutional appetite appears to be waning. The outflows from ETH-focused ETFs reflect a shift in sentiment away from active accumulation. Secondly, the broader crypto market is entering a risk-off mode: weak macro data, uncertainty around monetary policy, and falling derivative open interest are eroding bullish conviction. Technically, ETH’s slide under $3,500 opens the door for further downside. Most analysts point to the $3,300 zone as the next meaningful support, with some cautioning a drop toward $3,000 if that fails.
Forecast & key levels to watch In the near term, ETH may consolidate between approximately $3,650-$3,850 if a bounce occurs. But failure to regain traction could shift attention back to the $3,300 region, and potentially the $3,000 mark if selling pressure persists. For a recovery scenario, a sustained return above $4,000-$4,200 would be required to reset the bullish narrative. Until then, risk-weighted positioning may be prudent.
Why the long term still matters Despite the near-term turbulence, Ethereum’s fundamentals remain relevant: the network continues to see high levels of developer activity, increasing staking participation, and robust growth in Layer-2 ecosystems. Ultimately, if macro conditions improve—such as a more dovish posture from the Federal Reserve or renewed institutional flows—the pathway to a rebound (potentially in the $4,500-$5,500 range) remains open.
Conclusion Ethereum’s break below $3,500 amid $136 million in ETF outflows underscores the current fragility of the market. While the long-term thesis remains intact, the near term calls for caution. Monitoring ETF flows, macro headlines, and whether ETH can reclaim critical levels will be key to navigating this phase.
