<h3 id="strong-southeast-asia-is-often-seen-as-one-of-the-most-dynamic-crypto-regions-why-do-you-think-users-and-developers-here-are-so-quick-to-adopt-ton-strong">Southeast Asia is often seen as one of the most dynamic crypto regions. Why do you think users and developers here are so quick to adopt TON?</h3>
Telegram-Native Population
SEA is one of the most active Telegram regions globally, with millions of users relying on it daily for social, business, and crypto communication.
Mobile-First, Social-Driven Behavior
<a href="https://www.meltwater.com/en/blog/social-media-trends-habits-southeast-asia?utm_source=chatgpt.com" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Users in SEA</a> are mobile-first and socially engaged, making them ideal adopters for click-to-earn, Mini Apps, and socialFi products built on TON.
The virality and community dynamics here support fast adoption of new apps—especially meme coins, games, and gamified experiences.
Rapid Crypto Adoption &amp; Grassroots Growth
Countries like Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia <a href="https://www.chainalysis.com/blog/2024-global-crypto-adoption-index/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">are consistently among the top</a> in global crypto adoption indexes.
The user base is young, curious, and open to experimentation—especially when financial tools are embedded inside familiar platforms like Telegram.
Strong Developer &amp; Builder Base
SEA has a rising wave of blockchain developers, many already building on Ethereum, Solana, or BNB Chain.
TON’s Mini App framework offers these devs a new frontier to tap into Telegram’s 1B+ users, making SEA ideal for bootstrapping the ecosystem.
Regulatory Diversity &amp; Strategic Flexibility
Unlike regions with heavy crypto restrictions, SEA offers a mix of progressive and adaptive regulatory environments — enabling testing and scaling of new apps.
Southeast Asia represents more than just a fast-growing region — it is the ideal product-market fit for TON. The area combines high Telegram usage, rapid adoption curves, and strong builder energy with a cultural affinity for memes, games, and community-first projects. TON views Southeast Asia as the launchpad for mainstream Web3 adoption within Telegram and is directing resources, events, and partnerships to accelerate this vision.
<h3 id="strong-how-does-the-hub-help-connect-global-ton-technology-with-local-communities-in-countries-like-vietnam-india-and-indonesia-strong">How does the Hub help connect global TON technology with local communities in countries like Vietnam, India, and Indonesia?</h3>
The TON SSEA Hub ensuring that builders, students, and communities in each region can access the latest tools, knowledge, and opportunities to innovate on TON.
Breaking down complex technologies like TON smart contracts, TOLK, and Mini App development into practical, language-accessible learning experiences. Through technical workshops, hackathons, and Dev Houses, we translate TON’s infrastructure into real-world use cases that local developers can experiment with immediately. For example, during the TON Dev House at ETH Global Delhi, we introduced Indian builders to TOLK, a TypeScript-like language, making it easy for them to code directly in an environment they already understood. This simple bridge helped onboard 90+ new developers into TON’s ecosystem in just one event.
In Vietnam, partnerships with universities like Phenikaa University allow us to reach students early — giving them exposure to TON development tools, on-chain assets, and Telegram-native applications. These sessions not only teach blockchain fundamentals but also show how TON integrates seamlessly into products people already use daily. This approach creates the foundation for a new generation of TON-native developers.
Meanwhile, in Indonesia, our strategy focuses on tapping into grassroots developer communities and tech meetups. By working with existing builder groups and KOLs, we bring TON’s global ecosystem closer to local innovators — helping them understand not just how to build, but also why TON’s Telegram-based ecosystem offers a more frictionless path to mass adoption.
Through this regional engagement, the Hub ensures that global TON technology isn’t just imported — it’s localized, co-created, and scaled with the people who understand their markets best. Our mission is to empower builders to turn TON’s tools into solutions for their own communities — so the next generation of TON projects in SEA feels both global in quality and local in spirit.
<h3 id="strong-you-ve-organized-several-programs-like-dev-houses-builders-calls-and-ideaton-which-of-these-have-had-the-biggest-impact-on-developers-so-far-strong">You’ve organized several programs like Dev Houses, Builders Calls, and IdeaTON. Which of these have had the biggest impact on developers so far?</h3>
Among all the initiatives we’ve organized, TON Dev Houses have had the strongest and most immediate impact on developers so far. These full-day, hands-on builder events go beyond presentations — they create an environment where participants can learn, build, and deploy directly on TON.
During sessions like the TON Dev House at ETH Global Delhi, developers not only explored TON’s core architecture but also experienced TOLK, TON’s TypeScript-like language, through live coding and technical workshops. This practical, guided approach made TON accessible even to first-time builders. The result was clear: over 90+ new developers joined the TON community, with many showing genuine interest in continuing development on TON. Feedback showed that the structured, interactive format and approachable technical depth made these events far more memorable than typical blockchain side events.
At the same time, recurring online initiatives like Builders Calls have played a vital role in retaining engagement and supporting ongoing projects. These calls allow teams to share progress, ask technical questions, and receive feedback from the Hub and other ecosystem builders. It’s become a space for collaboration and mutual learning — bridging the gap between hackathon enthusiasm and real project execution.
Meanwhile, IdeaTON has served as a great entry point for new founders and early-stage teams. By allowing participants to pitch creative ideas and receive direct feedback from the Hub and mentors, it helps transform raw concepts into actionable projects. Many promising teams that started through IdeaTON later went on to participate in Builders Calls or Dev Houses — creating a full-circle builder journey.
In short, Dev Houses create the spark, IdeaTON nurtures ideas, and Builders Calls sustain momentum. Together, they’ve built a structured pathway for developers in SEA — from first contact with TON technology to becoming active contributors in the ecosystem.
<h3 id="strong-how-do-you-collaborate-with-universities-developer-clubs-and-ecosystem-partners-to-bring-new-builders-into-ton-strong">How do you collaborate with universities, developer clubs, and ecosystem partners to bring new builders into TON?</h3>
Collaboration with universities, developer clubs, and ecosystem partners is at the heart of how TON SSEA Hub expands its builder base across the region. Our approach focuses on education, hands-on experience, and long-term engagement, ensuring that every partnership leads to meaningful developer onboarding — not just one-time exposure.
In Vietnam, for instance, we’ve partnered with Phenikaa University to run on-campus sessions introducing blockchain fundamentals, TON architecture, and Telegram-native development. These workshops combine theory with live coding demos, allowing students to explore TON tools like TOLK and understand how to build directly for Telegram. The feedback has been outstanding — many students expressed that TON’s simplicity and real-world usability made it one of the most approachable ecosystems they’ve encountered. This model is now being replicated across other universities to seed a new generation of TON-ready developers.
In Malaysia, collaboration with the APU Blockchain Club (APUBCC) has been a major gateway to university talent. Through talks, workshops, and joint events, we’ve built a strong pipeline for student developers eager to enter Web3. These partnerships not only raise awareness but also create pathways for students to join programs like IdeaTON or TON Builders Calls, where they can refine and grow their ideas into real projects.
We also work closely with ecosystem partners — including dev communities like HackCBS in India, Bitskwela in the Philippines, and various incubators and VCs across Southeast Asia — to amplify reach and provide local mentorship. These collaborations help TON gain access to curated developer bases and offer co-branded events that align with community needs.
Every partnership is built with the goal of turning learning into building. Whether through university bootcamps, co-hosted hackathons, or joint workshops, we make sure developers not only understand TON’s technology but also see how to apply it immediately. By working hand-in-hand with educators, communities, and ecosystem enablers, the Hub is steadily building a sustainable developer pipeline that connects local talent to global TON opportunities.
<h3 id="strong-ton-s-strength-lies-in-its-telegram-native-ecosystem-how-is-ton-ssea-hub-helping-more-local-projects-and-users-take-advantage-of-that-integration-strong">TON’s strength lies in its Telegram-native ecosystem. How is TON SSEA Hub helping more local projects and users take advantage of that integration?</h3>
TON’s deep integration with Telegram is one of its most powerful advantages — it bridges Web2 familiarity with Web3 innovation. The TON SSEA Hub is actively leveraging this strength to help local projects and users across Southeast Asia turn Telegram from a simple chat app into a full-fledged Web3 entry point.
Our approach begins with education and awareness. Many developers in the region use Telegram daily but aren’t aware that they can build Mini Apps, bots, and on-chain experiences directly inside it. Through programs like TON Dev Houses, IdeaTON, and Builders Calls, we introduce developers to TON’s Mini App framework, Wallet integration, and TON Connect — showing them how these tools can help create frictionless user journeys. During ETH Global Delhi’s TON Dev House, for example, several developers were surprised by how quickly they could prototype Telegram-native products without needing deep blockchain experience.
In markets like Vietnam, India, and Indonesia, where Telegram already has tens of millions of active users, this native integration becomes a natural channel for mass onboarding. The Hub works closely with local builder teams to help them design user flows that feel as simple as using any Telegram feature — whether it’s sending tokens, minting NFTs, or interacting with decentralized apps.
We’re also collaborating with ecosystem partners and KOLs to showcase successful use cases, such as NFT gifting campaigns, social mini apps, and community reward systems built directly on TON. These real examples inspire local founders to adopt TON not just as a blockchain, but as a distribution layer within Telegram — giving their apps instant access to a massive user base.
For users, our social media campaigns and Telegram-based challenges serve as interactive learning experiences. By completing simple in-app missions — like connecting a TON wallet, claiming stickers, or joining a mini app — users learn by doing. This “onboarding through engagement” model has proven especially effective in SEA markets, where gamified experiences and social sharing drive strong participation.
In essence, TON SSEA Hub is helping local teams move from awareness to application — enabling them to build real, Telegram-native products that lower entry barriers, reach users instantly, and bring Web3 adoption closer to everyday life.
<h3 id="strong-looking-ahead-how-do-you-envision-the-future-of-ton-in-southeast-asia-and-what-role-will-the-hub-play-in-shaping-that-journey-strong">Looking ahead, how do you envision the future of TON in Southeast Asia, and what role will the Hub play in shaping that journey?</h3>
Looking ahead, we see Southeast Asia becoming one of the most vibrant and influential pillars of TON Ecosystem — a region where Web3 adoption happens naturally through Telegram, and where builders create real products used by millions. TON’s seamless integration with Telegram positions it perfectly for markets like Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and India, where communities are already digitally native, mobile-first, and highly active in chat-based ecosystems.
TON SSEA Hub will play a central role in this transformation by continuing to bridge global infrastructure with local execution. Our goal is to ensure that every country in the region — from Vietnam’s student innovators to India’s hackathon builders and Indonesia’s startup founders — has access to TON’s technology, mentorship, and community network. Through offline events, IdeaTON pitching rounds, Builders Calls, and university programs, we’ll keep expanding the developer pipeline and accelerating local innovation.
