AltLayer is a public, fully decentralized protocol designed to facilitate the launch of native and re-staked rollups, offering an innovative framework known as Restaked Rollups. This new concept aims to provide advanced security, decentralization, interoperability, and crypto-economic rapid finality for rollups converted from any stack, such as OP Stack, Arbitrum Orbit, Polygon CDK, and ZK Stack. AltLayer introduces a mechanism for bootstrapping the network with economic security borrowed from Ethereum through EigenLayer, enabling unsupervised launching of application-specific instances of main rollups.
The core offering of AltLayer consists of three main products: VITAL, a service where operators verify blocks and related states processed by the rollup sequencer; MACH, a protocol that provides faster certainty to rollups by supporting all claims about the rollup state, allowing operators to reclaim Ethereum-based assets; and SQUAD, which ensures decentralized sorting with economic backing, eliminating concerns like bad MEV and issues related to rollups operating with a single sequencer.
ALT coin is AltLayer’s native token with a total supply of 10 billion as of January 17, 2024, and an initial circulating supply of 1.1 billion following its Binance listing. The token serves multiple purposes, including economic bonding, governance, protocol incentives, and protocol fees, allowing holders to vote on governance decisions and rewarding operators within the AltLayer ecosystem.
To acquire ALT coin, one must first register on Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by transaction volume. After funding the Binance account wallet with cryptocurrency or fiat currency, ALT coin can be purchased in various trading pairs, such as ALT/BTC, ALT/<a href="https://en.bitcoinhaber.net/united-nations-warns-of-tether-usdt-misuse-in-southeast-asia" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">USDT</a>, ALT/BNB, ALT/FDUSD, and ALT/TRY, starting January 25, 2024.
For purchasing ALT coin on Binance, users navigate to the ALT/USDT trading pair interface, enter the desired amount in the limit tab, and complete the purchase with an ALT Buy order.
