 <h2 id="b-strengthening-south-korea-s-national-cybersecurity-b"><b>Strengthening South Korea’s National Cybersecurity</b></h2> 
 <p><span style="font-weight: 400">Besides the legislation, South Korea is doubling down on its cybersecurity efforts. A national cybersecurity committee directly overseen by the president, is in the pipeline. This committee aims to fortify South Korea against international hacking attempts, which evolve in complexity and scale. The chief of the National Security Office will head this pivotal committee, and the National Intelligence Service director will also serve as a key member.</span></p>

 <p><span style="font-weight: 400">Estimates suggest </span><span style="font-weight: 400">North Korea</span><span style="font-weight: 400"> stole approximately $1.28 billion in Bitcoin and Ethereum in 2022 alone. Furthermore, the FBI has identified six Bitcoin wallets worth around $40 million linked to the North Korean hacking group Lazarus. Hence, the urgency for stringent cybersecurity measures has never been higher.</span></p>
