BREAKING
Ethereum is navigating a volatile session following a sharp market-wide selloff that triggered $184 million in 24-hour liquidations across ETH derivatives — of which $166.7 million were long liquidations. Open interest remains elevated near $44.26 billion, reflecting the scale of leveraged exposure still active in the market. The broader pressure was compounded by $110.6 million in net spot ETF outflows on October 22, per available reporting, amplifying downside as institutional exits coincided with the derivatives cascade.
Into that liquidation-driven drop, on-chain tracker Lookonchain flagged a decisive counter-move: wallet 0xe81309ec9b79309e4d108ae3a92d1aa618cd6d74 (abbreviated 0xe813) opened a leveraged long position on 26,974 ETH with a notional value of $63.88 million. The position was entered directly after the market dip — a deliberate buy-the-dip execution rather than a pre-existing hold. At the time Lookonchain reported the move, the position carried $842,000 in unrealized profit, indicating the entry was well-timed relative to immediate price recovery.

On-chain analysts interpret a $63.88M long opened at the bottom of a liquidation cascade as a high-conviction dip-buy signal — not noise.

The context matters:

This was not accumulation during calm conditions. Wallet 0xe813 entered during peak fear, when $166.7 million in long liquidations were flushing overleveraged positions out of the market. A separate large BTC/ETH whale was also reported adding $9.21 million in USDC margin during the same session to avoid liquidation — suggesting the ETH liquidation zone near $2,181–$2,256 was the contested range. The 0xe813 long, sized at 26,974 ETH, suggests the trader expected that range to hold as structural support.

The level to watch:

ETH must defend the lower bound of that liquidation cluster. A breach below $2,181 would directly threaten the position’s thesis and could trigger a second cascade. A sustained hold above that level, followed by reclaim of the prior range, would validate the entry as a precision dip-buy into exhausted selling. For further context on how whale accumulation signals interact with broader market structure, see our analysis of the Bitcoin Whale Accumulation Signal and Bull Score reading.

What to watch next:

The Hyperbot tracker for 0xe813 will show whether the position is held, scaled up, or closed — each outcome carries a different signal. If the wallet adds to the 26,974 ETH long during any further weakness, it would suggest the trader sees deeper value below current levels. If it exits with profit quickly, it signals a short-term bounce trade rather than a macro conviction hold.
The 100% win rate across this wallet’s tracked history means community reaction on Lookonchain has been attentive — Ethereum’s broader recovery depends on whether the $2,181 support holds and ETF outflow pressure reverses. The Glamsterdam testnet delay adds no immediate bullish catalyst, meaning price recovery will need to be driven by on-chain demand and derivatives positioning alone.
