Update 02 Nov 2026, 09:30 UTC · added by CoinTurk News EN, crypto.news

CoinTurk attributes the disruption claim to Chainalysis and puts the Binance hack figure at $6.3 billion, while crypto.news pins the chain count at 10 networks and traces the trigger to a specific incorrect 10 ETH refund caused by the Ethereum reorg, which its automatic solvency checker then flagged.

Update 03 Nov 2026, 00:15 UTC · added by Unchained

Unchained identifies the funds being moved through THORChain as proceeds from North Korean hackers laundering stolen Binance assets, attributing the laundering slowdown to the bug. It also names THORChain co-founder Chad Barraford as a source, with the outlet reporting the company’s own explanation that the issue stemmed specifically from a one-block Ethereum reorg triggering erroneous refunds.
