Ripple received final OCC approval for a national trust bank after conditional approval in December 2025, completing the review process.

The bank may manage RLUSD reserves, act as collateral trustee, and provide fiduciary digital asset custody services for firms.

The approval covers Ripple's trust-bank activities; it does not guarantee higher XRP demand or a rise in the token's market price.

Ripple OCC approval gives the company a federally supervised framework for RLUSD reserve management and institutional digital asset custody, marking a new stage in its banking plans.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has granted final approval to Ripple National Trust Bank. The decision follows conditional approval issued in December 2025. It completes a key stage in the bank's organizational process.

The announcement, published on October 26, sets out the bank's approved activities. These include managing segregated reserves backing Ripple USD, commonly known as RLUSD. The bank may also be a collateral trustee of such reserves.

These activities are regulated by the federal framework. It gives Ripple a defined structure for providing the services named in the approval. However, authorization alone does not establish how quickly the bank will attract customers.

X Finance Bull was pleased with the move, calling it "big news for Ripple and XRP". The account focused on reserve management and institutional custody under federal oversight. Its bullish view reflects the announcement's importance to Ripple's broader financial operations.

RLUSD Reserve Management Takes Center Stage

Managing RLUSD reserves is one of the bank's approved responsibilities. These separate assets provide the backing for the dollar-pegged stablecoin and its backing system. The announcement does not provide updated reserve totals or circulation figures.

Ripple National Trust Bank will also act as collateral trustee for RLUSD reserves. This role involves handling reserve assets for the benefit of stablecoin holders. The arrangement gives the bank a defined responsibility within RLUSD's reserve structure.

That function is separate from the stablecoin's market performance. The approval identifies permitted services but offers no new adoption statistics. It also does not establish whether RLUSD usage will increase following the decision.

Institutional digital asset custody forms another part of the bank's approved work. These services include protection of digital assets to institutional clients. No specific clients are identified nor are there projections of business volumes.

What the Approval Means for XRP

The approval concerns Ripple National Trust Bank and its authorized trust activities. It does not state that the OCC has approved XRP as a banking product. Nor does it promise greater demand for the token.

Still, the bank's services could expand Ripple's offering to financial institutions. The responsibilities of a reserve manager differ from those of an asset custodian in digital asset markets. Their commercial interest will be determined by use and demand for them by clients.

For XRP holders, the distinction between company development and token demand remains important. Ripple's progress in regulated finance does not automatically translate into XRP purchases. Any direct effect on the token would require separate evidence.

There's also no XRP price forecast or trading volume information in the announcement. It therefore provides no basis for measuring an immediate market response. Price movements would need to be assessed separately from the regulatory decision.

The confirmed development is final federal approval for Ripple National Trust Bank. Its approved activities cover RLUSD reserve management, collateral trusteeship, and fiduciary digital asset custody. Whether these services bring lasting commercial growth will become clearer as the bank's operations develop.
