US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) extended their streak of daily inflows to three sessions on Wednesday, helping reverse some of October’s earlier outflow momentum with two trading days still remaining in the month. The renewed demand comes as markets digest a Federal Reserve decision that kept interest rates unchanged while cautioning that inflation is still above target.

According to SoSoValue data, Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $137 million on Wednesday. That lifted total inflows over the last three days to about $424 million and brought October’s net inflows to $111 million. Earlier in October, net flows had been negative through Tuesday, after nearly $774 million left Bitcoin ETFs across the final two trading days of the previous week.

Bitcoin ETF inflows recover after late-week outflows

The shift in fund flows is notable because it comes after a sharp pullback in the prior week. SoSoValue shows that October remained broadly negative through Tuesday, reflecting the magnitude of withdrawals at the end of the previous trading stretch. With Wednesday’s inflow, Bitcoin ETFs not only regained positive territory for the month’s net total, but also signaled that buyer interest may be returning in the short term.

This matters for investors because spot ETF flows often function as a real-time proxy for institutional appetite. When flows flip from sustained withdrawals to consecutive inflows, it can reduce near-term selling pressure from ETF holders and potentially support broader market demand—especially when traders are also watching macro signals.

Fed stays steady, traders shift focus to yields and the dollar

The ETF rebound aligned with a Federal Reserve decision to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged on Wednesday. The Fed held the policy rate in the 3.75% to 4% target range, while emphasizing that inflation remains above its 2% goal. Earlier coverage on Cointelegraph highlighted the central bank’s hawkish undertone as Fed Chair Kevin Warsh warned inflation had not returned to target.

Bitget analyst Lewis Huang, quoted by Cointelegraph, suggested that limited new guidance from the Fed could leave Bitcoin’s near-term direction more sensitive to factors such as Treasury yields, dollar moves, and overall risk sentiment.

For crypto traders, that framing is practical: even without a change in the Fed’s policy stance, the market can react if bond yields or currency dynamics shift in ways that affect liquidity conditions. With central bank messaging staying cautious, investors are likely to continue monitoring macro indicators closely rather than relying solely on crypto-specific narratives.

Price action and sentiment: neutral tone as ETF flows turn

At the time of writing, Bitcoin traded around $79,848, about 1% lower over the prior 24 hours, according to CoinGecko. Despite the modest dip in spot price, the ETF flow improvement suggests that inflows can strengthen even when short-term price momentum is mixed—an important distinction for anyone using daily price moves as their primary signal.

Market sentiment also did not swing sharply. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index held at 51, described as “Neutral,” for a second consecutive day, according to the index hosted by Alternative.me. That steadiness implies investors were not broadly shifting toward either extreme caution or aggressive risk-taking, at least based on this widely watched sentiment gauge.

Ether ETFs remain under pressure while Bitcoin stabilizes

While Bitcoin saw renewed inflows, Ether spot ETFs continued to face withdrawals. SoSoValue data shows Ether ETFs shed another $21 million on Wednesday, taking October’s net outflows to $1.35 billion.

On CoinGecko, Ether was trading around $2,310, down 1.7% over the last 24 hours. The divergence between Bitcoin and Ether flows points to a market that may be selectively allocating capital—backing Bitcoin’s recent inflow turnaround while remaining cautious about Ether’s prospects for the month.

Traders and allocators may want to watch whether Ether outflows persist or if they begin to mirror Bitcoin’s pattern. A stabilization in Ether ETF flows would typically be a key confirmation that broader demand is broadening beyond Bitcoin, rather than remaining concentrated.

With October still not fully settled, investors should watch whether Bitcoin ETF inflows can extend beyond this three-day streak and whether Treasury yields and the US dollar keep moving in a direction that supports risk assets; meanwhile, the next signal to track is whether Ether’s $1.35 billion October outflow total starts to slow.
