<a href="https://coincodex.com/crypto/bitcoin/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitcoin</a> recovered toward $81,000 on Wednesday, October 28, but market-cycle analyst Bob Loukas warned that the cryptocurrency's recent resilience could give way to another period of weakness unless buying momentum returns.
In an <a href="https://x.com/BobLoukas/status/2115096907244880130" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">October 27 post on X</a>, Loukas said Bitcoin and stocks had held up despite negative sentiment but were approaching the risk of stalling. He wanted to see momentum improve quickly.
His warning comes less than a week after he identified a potential 30-45-day window for Bitcoin gains, highlighting how uncertain the recovery remains as BTC struggles to establish support above $80,000.Bob Loukas Warns Bitcoin's New Cycle Needs Momentum
On October 21, Loukas suggested Bitcoin could be confirming a new market cycle, potentially opening the door to a meaningful advance through late November or early December.
However, he cautioned that the setup did not guarantee a major rally and identified approximately $79,600 as a level that would make him more defensive.
Bitcoin briefly fell below that threshold during October 27 trading, reaching approximately $79,500 before recovering to close near $80,900.
 The move adds uncertainty to the bullish cycle interpretation, although an intraday decline does not necessarily confirm a sustained breakdown.&amp;lt;iframe src=”https://widgets.coincodex.com/w/749fa2fe-3642-4ac0-b3e1-d1325899d095?site=coinpaper&amp;amp;mode=light” width=”100%” height=”420” frameborder=”0” referrerpolicy=”no-referrer-when-downgrade” style=”border:0;background:transparent;border-radius:0px;”&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/iframe&amp;gt;
The hesitation follows Bitcoin's recent <a href="https://coinpaper.com/37865/bitcoin-price-prediction-btc-falls-below-80-000-ahead-of-fed-meeting" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">selloff below $80,000</a>, which raised concerns about whether buyers could defend the market's previous support zone.
 Meanwhile, Bitfinex's latest <a href="https://coinpaper.com/37926/bitcoin-price-prediction-analysts-warn-77-k-support-could-break" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">technical outlook</a> identifies structural support between $77,000 and $80,000.Coinbase Warns of $73,000 While Coutts Sees $100,000
The broader analyst outlook remains divided.
In its <a href="https://www.coinbase.com/institutional/research-insights/research/weekly-market-commentary/weekly-2026-10-23" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">October 23 institutional research</a>, Coinbase identified $80,000–$82,000 as an important support region overlapping the average purchase price of US spot Bitcoin ETF holders.
If that area fails, Coinbase expects the likelihood of a retest toward $73,000–$75,000 to increase.
The firm also identified approximately 2.1 million BTC last moved between $87,500 and $91,700, creating potential selling pressure as prices approach those holders' acquisition levels.
Real Vision analyst Jamie Coutts offered a contrasting forecast on October 23, suggesting that clearing $85,000–$86,000 could allow Bitcoin to accelerate toward $100,000.
His view is consistent with the recovery scenarios discussed in Coinpaper's earlier <a href="https://coinpaper.com/37717/bitcoin-price-prediction-1-1-billion-flows-into-et-fs-but-can-btc-break-87-500-and-hit-90-000" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">$90,000 breakout analysis</a>.
However, a move toward six figures would still need to overcome the substantial supply concentration identified by Coinbase.Bitcoin Price Prediction: Can BTC Recover Momentum?
Institutional flows offer another explanation for the market's uncertainty.
Coinbase reported that Bitcoin ETFs attracted approximately $6.4 billion since August, compared with $1.5 billion in corporate treasury purchases.
That reverses the first-half pattern, when companies purchased approximately $14.5 billion in Bitcoin while ETFs recorded nearly $5 billion in net withdrawals.
The shift helps explain why <a href="https://coinpaper.com/36771/bitcoin-etf-inflows-stayed-positive-last-week-as-btc-rallied-over-the-weekend" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ETF demand</a> has become increasingly important to Bitcoin's recovery.
For bulls, reclaiming $82,000 would strengthen the immediate outlook, followed by the $85,000-$86,000 resistance area identified by Coutts.
For bears, another sustained break below $79,600 could bring $77,000 into focus, followed by Coinbase's deeper $73,000-$75,000 scenario.
The Federal Reserve's October 28 decision adds uncertainty, particularly as <a href="https://coinpaper.com/37597/bitcoin-price-prediction-btc-risks-80-k-drop-ahead-of-october-28-fed-decision" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">higher interest rates</a> threaten risk appetite.
 More optimistic long-term forecasts, including <a href="https://coinpaper.com/36641/bitcoin-price-prediction-can-btc-reach-citis-new-113k-target" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Citi's $113,000 target</a>, remain substantially above current prices.
