Bitcoin recorded one of October’s largest exchange withdrawal events, with approximately 12,570 BTC leaving trading platforms on October 27. According to CryptoQuant data, the withdrawals reached an estimated $1.01 billion as Bitcoin traded near $80,487.

The substantial outflows emerged as Bitcoin struggled to regain momentum following a decline toward the psychological $80,000 price level. Meanwhile, the movement marked a significant reversal in exchange activity, with withdrawals exceeding deposits across monitored trading platforms.

CryptoQuant’s Bitcoin exchange netflow indicator dropped to approximately negative 12,570 BTC, representing one of the month’s largest daily outflows. The reading followed a previous session that recorded positive net inflows exceeding 7,000 BTC.

This reversal represented a netflow swing of more than 19,570 BTC between the two reporting periods. Additionally, the October 27 withdrawals reduced exchange balances, potentially limiting the amount of Bitcoin readily available for trading.

At the reported Bitcoin price of $80,487, the net outflow carried an estimated value of approximately $1.01 billion. CryptoQuant’s figures remained preliminary, meaning the final daily withdrawal total could change as additional transactions enter the dataset.

Bitcoin Exchange Withdrawals Approach October 6 Levels as Supply Declines

The October 27 withdrawals approached levels recorded on October 6, when exchanges experienced net outflows of nearly 15,000 BTC. Comparatively, the latest figure remained approximately 2,430 BTC below that earlier reading, highlighting another substantial reduction in exchange balances.

Large withdrawals often involve investors moving Bitcoin into private wallets, institutional custody services, or storage arrangements outside trading platforms. These transfers can reduce immediately available exchange supply, particularly when holders choose to retain their assets rather than trade them. Similarly, substantial exchange inflows can indicate potential selling activity, but deposits alone do not establish that investors have sold their Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Price Holds Near $80,000 Despite $1 Billion Exchange Outflow

Bitcoin traded around $80,487 during the withdrawal period, remaining near the psychological $80,000 level following its recent market decline. The cryptocurrency showed limited evidence of a sustained recovery despite the considerable reduction in exchange balances.

Meanwhile, the difference between exchange withdrawals and price performance highlighted the absence of an immediate market reaction to the transfers. Further netflow readings could establish whether the withdrawals represent sustained exchange balance reductions or a temporary change in investor activity.

In conclusion, Bitcoin’s estimated $1.01 billion exchange outflow marked one of October’s largest withdrawal events, involving approximately 12,570 BTC. The preliminary figures highlight substantial exchange activity as Bitcoin attempts to maintain its position above $80,000.
