The event, held at Convento do Beato, features discussions centered on practical real-world applications of the Stellar network, with keynote speeches scheduled for online streaming on October 28 and 29.

Nadine Chakar, Global Head of Digital Assets at DTCC, will participate in a fireside chat during the conference. DTCC, a major post-trade financial services firm processing trillions of dollars in securities transactions annually, plays a significant role in modernizing financial infrastructure using digital assets.

Other confirmed speakers include representatives from BNY, U.S. Bank, Cantor Fitzgerald, Meta, and General Motors, signaling a focus on bridging traditional finance with blockchain innovation. The presence of these major financial institutions highlights their ongoing exploration of blockchain technology for enterprise use.

XLM tests critical support at $0.16–$0.17

As the conference gets underway, Stellar’s XLM token trades close to $0.167, holding near a rising weekly support area between $0.16 and $0.17. Market analysts highlight $0.2254 as the first major resistance point in any attempt at price recovery. If XLM can clear this and the adjacent descending trendline, it could target the $0.45 to $0.50 range, where a broad macro downtrend is apparent.

One analyst scenario suggests that a move higher may face initial rejection before a renewed attempt toward the upper side of the trend. A confirmed breakout and retest would bring the upper rising trendline near $0.80 into focus. However, if the current support area fails, the bullish outlook for XLM could weaken.

Real-world asset tokens under pressure

Real-world asset (RWA) tokens have faced notable declines over the past month despite strong corporate announcements and partnerships within the sector. According to a sector tracker, Centrifuge’s CFG slid 36.6%, Ondo’s ONDO dropped 24.5%, XLM fell 23.1%, Syrup’s SYRUP declined 21.2%, and Chainlink’s LINK decreased by 20.1%. Amid the pullback, Chainlink stands out for ongoing institutional traction.

LINK attracted 15 new institutional partners this year, including Mastercard, Deutsche Börse, and S&P Global, underscoring robust foundational growth. However, LINK remains about 35% lower on the year, highlighting a divergence between increasing network activity and its price trajectory.

The broader weakness in the RWA segment demonstrates that growing adoption and positive fundamentals have yet to insulate these tokens from price declines amid a challenging market backdrop.

Market impact of Meridian and sector outlook

Institutional and enterprise involvement in the Meridian conference represents a continuation of the link between conventional finance and blockchain platforms like Stellar. However, XLM remains at a pivotal point, with traders focusing on the durability of its support region and prospects for a sustained rally.

With recent underperformance in RWA crypto tokens, the community is watching for potential signals from the Meridian event that could influence sentiment or price activity. Whether renewed interest from major institutions translates into upward momentum for XLM depends largely on the technical outcome at current support levels.
