US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds posted one of their sharper recent reversals across two consecutive trading days in late October 2026, according to daily flow data compiled by Farside Investors. On October 21, the category pulled in a combined net inflow of $524.8 million, with BlackRock’s IBIT leading at $235.0 million and Fidelity’s FBTC close behind at $212.7 million. Smaller contributions came from Bitwise’s BITB at $19.2 million, ARK 21Shares’ ARKB at $9.8 million, Franklin Templeton’s EZBC at $7.3 million, Grayscale’s GBTC at $32.6 million, and Grayscale’s mini bitcoin trust at $8.2 million, meaning essentially every major fund in the category posted a positive day.
That broad-based strength reversed completely the very next trading day. On October 22, the category recorded a combined net outflow of $635.6 million, with IBIT again at the center of the move, this time shedding $254.1 million, and FBTC right behind at negative $217.5 million. Bitwise’s BITB lost $27.4 million, and ARK 21Shares’ ARKB, which had posted a modest inflow the prior day, swung to a $109.4 million outflow, one of the larger single-day moves among funds outside the two largest issuers. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT was a rare exception, posting a small $2.3 million inflow even as the broader category reversed, while Grayscale’s GBTC lost $29.5 million.
Taken together, the swing from October 21’s inflow to October 22’s outflow totals roughly $1.16 billion in reversed flow across a single day-over-day comparison, a magnitude that stands out even against the category’s typically volatile day-to-day swings. Because IBIT and FBTC are by far the two largest spot Bitcoin ETFs by assets under management, their behavior tends to dominate the category’s aggregate daily figures whenever they move strongly in the same direction, which is part of why both days showed such a lopsided pattern across almost every fund simultaneously.
The October 21 inflow followed a far more modest $23.2 million net inflow on October 20, meaning the category’s three-day stretch moved from barely positive, to strongly positive, to sharply negative in quick succession. Farside’s flow tables, which aggregate net creation and redemption activity across all major US spot Bitcoin ETF issuers into a single daily figure, had not yet posted a row for October 23 at the time of this report, consistent with the usual lag before a trading day’s figures are finalized and published.
The Bitcoin ETF flow table, published by Farside Investors, does not attribute a specific catalyst to either day’s move, leaving the sharp two-day reversal as a data point for traders to weigh against broader price action and news flow surrounding bitcoin during that stretch.
