The asset manager points to tokens linked to computing and data demand, including one it says has gained 580% this year.

Grayscale Investments has published research naming three crypto projects it considers well placed to capture value from the ongoing artificial intelligence infrastructure expansion. The firm, a major manager of digital asset investment products, frames the selections around rising demand for computing power, data, and related services that support AI systems.

According to reporting on Grayscale's research, one of the three assets has already delivered a 580% gain. Grayscale ties that performance to the project's exposure to AI computing revenue. The figure illustrates the scale of price moves seen across smaller tokens connected to the AI narrative over the past year.

The broader context is a continuing search by investors for ways to gain exposure to artificial intelligence outside traditional equities. Large technology companies have poured capital into data centers, chips, and energy to support AI workloads. Some crypto projects market themselves as decentralized alternatives for compute, storage, or data provision, positioning tokens as a way to participate in that spending cycle.

Grayscale's note arrives as asset managers look for new ways to frame crypto allocations beyond bitcoin and ether. Thematic research tying digital assets to AI infrastructure has become more common as the sector matures. Firms managing trusts and funds often publish such research to inform clients and, in some cases, to support product development tied to specific themes.

The reports covering Grayscale's selections did not specify every detail of the underlying investment thesis for each of the three projects. What is consistently reported is the broad framing: tokens connected to AI compute, data, or infrastructure demand are being presented as beneficiaries of the wider AI buildout. The 580% figure tied to one project stands out as the most concrete performance data point referenced across coverage.

Investors should note that thematic research from asset managers is not identical to investment advice, and past performance figures like the 580% gain describe historical price movement rather than a guarantee of future results. Crypto tokens tied to emerging narratives such as AI have historically shown high volatility, with sharp rallies often followed by significant pullbacks.

Grayscale has a long history of publishing sector research alongside its suite of crypto investment products, including trusts tracking individual assets and baskets of tokens. Its research arm regularly issues thematic reports covering areas such as decentralized finance, layer-1 blockchains, and now AI-linked infrastructure tokens, reflecting shifts in where institutional and retail interest is concentrated within the digital asset market.

Thematic endorsements from a large asset manager like Grayscale can draw additional investor attention to the named projects, potentially affecting trading volumes and short-term price action. Smaller tokens connected to AI narratives have shown significant volatility, and renewed attention from institutional research can amplify those swings in either direction.

More broadly, the report reflects a continuing trend of crypto markets tracking narratives from traditional technology sectors, particularly artificial intelligence. If AI infrastructure spending continues to expand, tokens marketed around compute and data provision may see sustained interest from investors seeking crypto-native exposure to that growth.

Grayscale's research adds to a growing body of crypto market commentary linking digital assets to the artificial intelligence buildout. The 580% gain cited for one project underscores both the opportunity and the volatility that often accompanies thematic crypto investing.
