Memecoin trading is dominated by ecosystems on chains like @Solana and @RobinhoodApp. Several alternative Layer 1 networks are now trying to build their own meme economies, helped in some cases by growing institutional activity. Three are worth watching: Injective, Avalanche and Cardano.

Injective builds a memecoin launchpad scene

@injective ($INJ) is pushing to grow its community around memecoin trading. Run-Up is a token launchpad built on Injective EVM that uses a pump.fun-style bonding curve for meme-token launches.Injective has highlighted Run-Up (@runupdotfun) as launched and Sprouts (@sproutsomefun) as launching next.
Activity on these platforms is still light, but that could change. @NinjaCatSF is among the projects that could be doing interesting things in the ecosystem.
The chain's broader fundamentals add context. CoinGecko's research team reports that Injective ranks #10 of all Layer 1s by trailing-12-month revenue ($3.41M), and that the first U.S.-regulated INJ futures launched on Bitnomial on April 15, 2026, with three INJ ETF filings already submitted. That report is labelled as sponsored content, so readers should treat it with some caution.

Avalanche and Cardano: institutional momentum first, memecoins later

@Avax ($AVAX) has had a strong 2026 on the institutional front. In the first quarter, Japan's largest security token platform Progmat announced a migration of more than $2 billion in tokenized assets to an Avalanche L1, according to Nansen.CoinMarketCap data shows Avalanche attracted $131.2 million in tokenized stock inflows in the week ending September 25, 2026, outpacing every other blockchain tracked combined.
If that progress eventually reaches Avalanche's memecoin economy, it could be interesting. Assets such as @coqinuavax have already been around for a while.
@Cardano ($ADA) and @MidnightNtwrk have also made notable progress this year. Midnight launched on mainnet on March 30, 2026, bringing programmable privacy to the Cardano ecosystem. It launched with nine institutional validators and a dual-token model, where $NIGHT handles governance and rewards and DUST is a shielded resource for transaction fees. Messari's Q1 report also noted that $ADA fell 27.4% quarter-over-quarter to $0.24, a reminder that development progress has not translated into price strength.
Native Cardano memecoins such as @Snek could benefit over time if the network's growth feeds into retail activity, though that outcome is far from certain.
The common thread is that institutional adoption and memecoin activity do not always move together. Each of these chains has real infrastructure progress, but meme trading volume remains modest compared with the leading ecosystems. This is not financial advice. Always do your own research.
