<h2 id="span-style-font-size-16px-network-roundup-brings-upgrade-date-and-rising-usage-span">Network Roundup Brings Upgrade Date and Rising Usage</h2>
The Solana Weekly update from the network’s<a href="https://x.com/solana" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">official X account</a> is now out. It covers news from October 9 to October 16, 2026, and went live on October 17, 2026. This article picks the key items and adds SOL price context for October 18.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-alpenglow-upgrade-gets-an-october-21-target-span-span">Alpenglow Upgrade Gets an October 21 Target</h2>
The roundup lists October 21 as the date for the <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/solana-news-today-price-alpenglow-launch-date" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Alpenglow upgrade</a>. According to the post, the change targets a finality of 150 milliseconds. Finality is the point where a transaction can no longer be reversed.
Faster finality could help trading apps and payment tools that need quick settlement. The change has not gone live yet, so results remain unknown. This item in the Solana Weekly update is the main technical event for readers to track. Delays are possible with any network upgrade.

<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-regulated-stablecoin-tokenized-fund-and-ledger-device-news-span-span">Regulated Stablecoin, Tokenized Fund, and Ledger Device News</h2>
Three product items link the chain with regulated finance and hardware.
<ul>
 <li>USDU stablecoin: The token expands to the network with issuance regulated in the UAE. A stablecoin is a token built to track a fixed value, such as one US dollar. The post says USDU has 1:1 backing.</li>
 <li>OSL fund tokenization:<a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/solana-news-today-securitize-tokenized-stocks-sol-price" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">OSL tokenized</a> the 2WA USDGO Plus SP fund on the chain. It also handles custody.</li>
 <li>Seeker app on Ledger: The Seeker app now works on Ledger’s new Atom device. The hardware adds new tamper protections.</li>
</ul>
Each item is reported in the Solana Weekly update, so the details come from the roundup alone. The issuers’ own pages hold the full terms.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-active-addresses-tokenized-stocks-and-a-hong-kong-etf-span-span">Active Addresses, Tokenized Stocks, and a Hong Kong ETF</h2>
The roundup also cites growth in network use. It reports 1.88M unique active addresses, which it calls the highest level in 13 months. Active addresses count wallets that send at least one transaction in a period.
Two other items add market context. The post says most tokenized stock trading on the chain happens outside US market hours. The same pattern holds on BNB Chain. A tokenized stock is a blockchain token that tracks the price of a listed share.
Pando Finance also planned to launch Hong Kong’s second spot SOL ETF on October 13. <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-etf-news-today-bitcoin-ethereum-xrp-sol-outflow" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">A spot ETF holds</a> the actual asset rather than futures contracts.

<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-expert-take-adoption-signals-versus-price-action-span-span">Expert Take: Adoption Signals Versus Price Action</h2>
The items in the roundup point in one direction. Regulated stablecoins, tokenized funds, and exchange-traded products move traditional finance closer to the chain. The Alpenglow date stands as the main technical event.
Price action looked calm against this backdrop. A 1.2% daily dip sits within a <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/solana-holds-106-as-rwa-jumps-6x-why-are-etf-investors-selling" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">normal range for SOL</a>. Adoption data and price do not always move together, and upgrades carry execution risk. Address counts also have limits, since one user can hold many wallets. A reader tracking the Solana Weekly update should weigh both sides.
<h2 id="span-span-style-font-size-16px-what-the-latest-roundup-means-for-readers-span-span">What the Latest Roundup Means for Readers</h2>
This week’s items cover an upgrade date, regulated assets, new hardware access, and rising usage. The <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/solana-weekly-update-samsung-usdc-dvp-settlement" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Solana Weekly update</a> gives readers a compact view of what the project highlights.&nbsp;
Readers should track the Alpenglow rollout and confirm details through official channels. Figures stay volatile, so each claim needs checking against its source.
