In a major physical boost, Solana is strengthening its presence in China as the blockchain network prepares to launch its Solana Accelerate China tour across four major cities from October 16 to October 22. The initiative, combined with attention surrounding Solana’s Shanghai office, highlights the network’s efforts to deepen its engagement with China’s technology community.
Solana Foundation President Lily Liu and Solana executive Vibhu have drawn attention to the office. Solana CPO made a claim about its status as the world’s highest commercial office space. Liu also acknowledged the statement on X, bringing additional visibility to Solana’s Shanghai presence.
The office claim has attracted interest ahead of the upcoming China tour. While the precise building though it appears to be Shanghai tower and the basis for the global ranking have not been independently established by Block of fame team yet, the comments underscore the attention surrounding Solana’s local footprint.

The Solana Accelerate China program is scheduled to begin in Shanghai on October 16, followed by Hangzhou on October 18. The tour will continue in Shenzhen on October 20 before concluding in Beijing on October 22.
The Solana Accelerate China tour is scheduled to run from October 16 through October 22, with stops in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, and Beijing.
The initiative is expected to bring together developers, founders, investors, and technology businesses for discussions about blockchain infrastructure, application development, and opportunities for collaboration with the international Solana ecosystem.
The four-city format provides Solana with an opportunity to connect with different parts of China’s technology industry. Potential areas of interest include decentralized finance, stablecoin payments, tokenized assets, artificial intelligence, and consumer-facing applications.
The tour also follows Solana’s broader regional engagement through its Accelerate program. Its 2026 Accelerate APAC event in Hong Kong featured discussions on tokenization, stablecoins, institutional finance, decentralized finance, and onchain markets. Event information cited for that gathering reported more than 3,000 builders, executives, and attendees, alongside over 100 fintech and technology companies.
Those figures illustrate the scale of Solana’s wider ecosystem outreach, although they do not establish the expected attendance or outcomes of the China events.

Why Solana Is Focusing on China

China’s technology sector offers a substantial pool of engineering talent, entrepreneurs, and technology businesses. Building relationships with these communities could create opportunities for technical collaboration and international business development.
For Solana, attracting developers and application builders is a central part of ecosystem expansion. Blockchain networks compete to attract projects, users, liquidity, and businesses capable of turning blockchain infrastructure into practical products.
Solana’s China outreach also comes amid Beijing’s broader push to strengthen its digital economy through blockchain infrastructure and emerging technologies. On October 10, 2026, China’s Communist Party Central Committee and the State Council outlined plans for a national blockchain network designed to promote deeper integration of the digital economy, alongside a national integrated computing power network.
The policy agenda also emphasizes the implementation of China’s “Artificial Intelligence+” action plan and the development of future industries, including quantum computing.
While the initiative highlights China’s interest in blockchain technology as part of its digital infrastructure, it does not signal a reversal of the country’s restrictions on cryptocurrency trading and related business activities.
For Solana, the development provides broader context for its China engagement, although no direct link between the national blockchain proposal and the Accelerate China tour has been established.
