September saw these gold contracts reach 542 million in total trades. This figure represents approximately 70% more activity than Ethereum’s 318 million contracts during the identical timeframe.
Bitcoin continues to hold its commanding lead across the platform. The cryptocurrency maintains its status as Kalshi’s highest-performing asset by a substantial margin.
The gold product enables participants to speculate on price movements within 15-minute intervals. Launched in August, each market settlement relies on pricing information supplied by Pyth.
Fee estimates from gold contract activity totaled $5 million throughout September. Meanwhile, Ether’s 15-minute offerings brought in roughly $2.6 million in fees during the same window, based on data from Predict Charts.
Bitcoin continues to dwarf both markets significantly. Its 15-minute products yielded approximately $60.4 million in estimated fees for September, representing more than twelve times gold’s revenue.

Rapid-Fire Markets Become Major Fee Generator

Markets with brief durations are claiming an increasingly significant share of Kalshi’s revenue stream beyond sports wagering. Analysis from InGame revealed that 15-minute contracts spanning crypto, commodities, and financial instruments produced $20.4 million in fees during the seven-day period ending October 5.
This amount represented roughly 80% of all non-sports fee collection on Kalshi throughout that week. The platform’s total non-sports fee revenue reached an estimated $25.1 million over the identical stretch.
While these rapid-turnaround contracts constituted just 13% of overall platform volume, they delivered 20% of total fee income.
Kalshi’s fee structure imposes higher charges on contracts trading near equilibrium odds. Short-window markets frequently hover around even probabilities since participants are forecasting movements across compressed timeframes.
Daily fee collection from these brief-duration products exceeded $3 million on four occasions during the analyzed week. According to InGame’s calculations, one Friday alone generated $3.3 million.

Rapid Growth in Commodity Market Segment

Kalshi’s commodity offerings have experienced accelerated expansion since their introduction. On September 8, the company announced that commodity markets had crossed $400 million in cumulative trading volume in just seven months.
This growth rate was approximately double the speed at which cryptocurrency markets initially achieved comparable volume milestones on the platform.
Kalshi’s commodity market lineup currently encompasses gold, silver, crude oil, copper, and agricultural commodities. Settlement for each market utilizes data feeds from external pricing providers.
The $400 million metric represents aggregate dollar-denominated trading volume across commodities. This differs from the 542 million gold contracts figure for September, which tallies individual transaction count rather than monetary value.
Kalshi has submitted regulatory filings proposing new perpetual contract products linked to gold, silver, and platinum. No launch timeline has been disclosed for these offerings.
The surge in short-window market activity coincides with broader expansion efforts at Kalshi. Reports emerged indicating the company was negotiating to secure roughly $1 billion in fresh capital at a valuation approaching $40 billion, up from $22 billion earlier in 2026.
Non-sports categories generated over one-quarter of Kalshi’s estimated fee income in September. Through October 6 of 2026, non-sports markets contributed 19.2% of fees, compared with 11% throughout 2025.
