The pool connects regulated European banking infrastructure to on-chain digital dollars, creating what is effectively a real-time foreign exchange channel without traditional banking counterparties.

What the Trading Pair Actually Does

The integration pairs two distinct assets. On one side sits EURe, issued by Monerium, an authorized Electronic Money Institution regulated under EU e-money law and compliant with the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).EURe is fully backed 1:1 by euros held in safeguarded accounts, and euros sent to the linked IBAN via SEPA are automatically minted as EURe into the connected wallet. On the other side sits frxUSD, Frax's tokenized digital dollar.
Eligible Monerium customers can now receive EURe in linked wallets via SEPA transfers and immediately swap for frxUSD through the new pool.Capa provides supporting infrastructure for liquidity management, payments, and FX trading activities associated with the stablecoin pair.
Settlement runs on Polygon's network, letting payment processors and fintech applications swap between euros and digital dollars instantly, without routing through a bank or a centralized exchange.

Why the Regulatory Layer Matters

The compliance credentials behind EURe are a key part of the story. Monerium is a licensed Electronic Money Institution authorized by the Central Bank of Iceland and passported across the EU, and was the first EMI authorized to issue e-money on a public blockchain, in 2019. That regulatory standing gives the EURe side of the pair legal clarity that most euro stablecoins lack.
The EURe/frxUSD liquidity pool on Uniswap v3 on Polygon enables direct on-chain swaps between euro and U.S. dollar stablecoins, and the integration facilitates seamless foreign exchange activity within the Polygon ecosystem by connecting traditional fiat rails with decentralized trading infrastructure.
For fintechs and payment processors operating across the euro zone and the dollar-denominated crypto economy, the practical implication is a faster, cheaper corridor. Currency conversion that previously required a banking intermediary can now happen programmatically on-chain, in seconds.
